Ambiance is nice and loudy. Free peanuts are always good to eat. Beer selection is good and those taste very good. They also have special beers that are very nice. A good place to visit in Montreal. Make a reservation if you have a group (>8).

Visited another location in Montreal off of St Catherine, I believe? A must-stop in Montreal. Go in for a pitcher ($22 CAD) of the pilsner/maple syrup whiskey blend. It’s to die for. Good burgers, sandwiches, etc. If you can get the table in the front window, do it. Great place to spend the afternoon people-watching!

First brewpub I visited while in Montreal. Very kitschy/typical decor and vibe. The bartender was very nice, however, and service was prompt. They only had four beers on tap, which were all unimpressive. I think this place is just the "tourists" brewpub, not something for a beer geek to seek out.

Went there with a friend and we ordered a metre of beer. There were 3 different types of beer if I remember correctly (the "Brune" was not available at the time). The beer was allright but no more than that. We had some extra thin pizzas wich were a nice enough snack I guess. If you find yourself in Montréal, this is definetely a place to visit, but you can find better microbreweries there :)

I went to this place on a Saturday afternoon - the place was packed with locals watching futbol. They have three sizes of beer that one could choose from half pint, pint and monster (1.5 pint I think). They only had three usual beers and a specialty beer and none of them were all that great. Again food was just ok.

Stumbled opun this joint over the summer of 07 on a Friday night. A large, intimidating bouncer greeted us at the door and upon entering we were surpried to see such a large place that had a very commercial, semi industrial decor similar to that of an Applebee’s. Lots of brewing equipment and large brass fermentation tanks were on display. We sat down at the bar and asked the bartender what beers were available. He immediately brought of all a set of four snifters filled with the four house brews, a blanch, rousse, brune and blond. They were all pretty mediocre, but the bartender did have knowledge about them and was enthusiastic to serve them. I have no knowledge of the quality of the food, as I came to get drunk. The bathrooms were nice though, but had that same commercian chain-resturaunt feel to them. Not bad, but not a place you need to go to when in Montreal.

Went here on a Saturday around noontime because all other brewpubs appeared to be closed until 3pm (with the exception of the adjacent Amere A Boire). Their beer lineup appeared to be quite limited. They had 4 standard beers by color (blanche, blonde, rousse, brune) on tap, as well as a special maple-brown ale in a bottle. Embiance is a bit peculier...kind of a tavern-like motif along with an industrial blend. Some brewing equipment are on display up front with some tables and the bar on your right. It wasn’t a very busy lunchtime and the bartender seemed in no hurry to serve us. I ordered some chicken poutine, which was pretty good. The gravy was salty, and I am certain that is was not homemade in any way. Either way, the portion was large and it was satisfying. I did not check out the restrooms. Also, there was loud music playing with the accompanying music videos on all of the TVs, which was rather annoying. I guess if you are in Montreal around noon and want a craft beer, then this is the place to go...otherwise, I don’t see why this place would be on anyone’s itinerary with so many other great brewpubs in the viscinity.

Packed on a Saturday night, this multi-level air-conditioned maze has a really interesting layout with tanks and balconies and wooden beams jutting out from all corners and has a huge patio outside. I sat inside at the bar next to a very nice but stereotypical ’biker’ character -- turns out he’s an engineer-turned-stuntman and was on his second or third LITRE mug of the ambree. Service was busy but fair and fairly efficient. Beer selection is meager but I was content that all four of their own were available (blanche, blonde, ambree and brune) though none were particularly flattering to the establishment. You can buy a bomber of their Belle Province for a whopping $13. The menu was small but interesting and the nachos looked good. Overall, to me it was worth the visit because of the refreshing air conditioning and funny conversation, but it’s probably not worth the effort to go back again.

Convenient with a typical industrial brewpub look. This place was only a few blocks from my hotel. The food was very good even if the selection was somewhat sparse. The witbier and brune were decent enough and the staff were friendly enough. Not a must stop, but definitely decent enough for dinner after hitting some of the museums in Old Montreal.
