| Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | March 20, 2009 Gorgeous old colonial mansion! Sprawling wooden wrap-around patio with a pool table on it as well as the tables and chairs. Also has a nice big cozy bar area, a substantial biergarten out back and a whole separate restaurant section too. Unfortunately it’s a gem of a building wasted on odious beers. On the up side, they have Celebrator and the Samuel Smiths line, the service is friendly and the atmosphere kicks ass. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | March 20, 2009 The building itself is gorgeous, so it is a nice place to while away an afternoon or evening. However, the beer is pretty poor. The lagers are a marginal failure but the ales are completely undrinkable. They do have some Ayinger and Sam Smith stuff, however, including Celebrator. There’s a pub and a restaurant, so you have atmosphere options. But overall, this place needs help, particularly on the brewing end of things. |
