Arrived there at opening on a tranquil Sunday afternoon. The place is definitely more classy and shiny than McNeill’s, pleasant. Menu is pub fare, ranging from burgers, dips, fried green tomatoes, etc... Good selection of taps, about 15 on the ground floor and much more in the basement, which is only opened on week-end nights. The bartender mentionned that Berkshires will brew on premise later this year (2009), small and trial batches. A nice stop in Brattleboro.

Stopped in for a pint of Berkshire beer, which I hadn’t tasted in a long time. The pub can get loud it seems in the evenings, but it made for a convivial atmosphere. Lots of taps, as others have said, but mostly Berkshire’s and a few obvious (but good) craft brews. Needless to say, this is not the dive McNeill’s is, but I must say I like that dive quite a bit, so the Flat Street Brew Pub still comes in second in Brattleboro for me as there is nothing really memorable in the beers they serve and the decor of the place.

This place is everything that McNeill’s isn’t. Nice decor, excellent service, good food, and a surprising number of beers on tap. My wife and myself were seated in the "Tap Room" which is downstairs. It’s the restaurent part of the place. It was very busy, which isn’t surprising as it was a Friday evening. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The waiter was very attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I was impressed that they had 25 differant beers on tap. About 10 of them were Berkshire Brewing, but there was a surprising selection of other brews including Arrogant Bastard, Fullers, Stone Ruination IPA, Unibroue, Lindemans amongest others. The only knock on the place that I’ll mention is that they are not a brewpub as their name implies.

I have been here a few times. I heard that the boys from BBC sold it, but nothing has changed. The draft list was 80% BBC and a couple of other local micros. They had this amazing Imperial Stout / Drayman’s Porter mix beer the last time I was there, but the server had no idea what I was talking about when I inquired. The atmosphere is nice... sports bar with 2 nice TV’s and some comfy tables and chairs on the other half. Stop in on your way north on Interstate 91 if you ever drive through Vermont.

Had dinner here before heading to McNeill’s. Several beers from Berkshire Brewing on draught among others. Food was "meh" and Berkshire beers are good but nothing hugely special. My wife saw a mouse running across the floor whilst we waited. Service was fine, though a bit overworked. Not a "must visit" type of place, but not horrible.

Nice place to stop if you’re heading up to McNeills. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was a little yuppie for my taste, but not in an uncomfortable way. The food looked great and I regretted the pizza I had an hour before. Had a rack of six 4oz samples(for like 6 dollars or something silly cheap), all Bershires (which is what they’re all about), and they were pretty decent. I preferred McNeills for beer and Kips for atmosphere but if you’re in Brattleboro it is certainly worth a stop.

stopped here for a nightcap after McNeill’s. This isn’t actually a brewpub, but they serve 10 of Berkshire’s beers. Nice looking place, was pretty crowded on a saturday night. I had a flat street stout which was a blend, and not too bad. Didn’t try the food. You can see the old brewing equipment downstairs- from what I heard they may be brewing again onsite soon. Overall pretty decent for a hotel bar.

stopped in recently...under new ownership. Lot’s of fun and good food. Beer was good, not sure what happened to those other folks. great for after or before a show at the Latchis Theatre. Recommend that they try it again. Heard that they will be online for brewing their own soon.
