19 reviews for Union Jacks
| teemorton (10), Louisville, | | August 3, 2009 Ambiiance is covered in smoke. Service is generally ok. Draft selection could improve. Not expensive. Would go here 4 times a year, decent place overall | | lithy (98), Knoxville, Tennessee | | June 30, 2009 The best under six bar in Knoxville, has mostly bottles and a decent tap list including the only Olde Hickory account in Knoxville, usually has at least six standard taps of OHB and a couple that rotate. We play trivia here on Sunday night and it is a cheap night. Food is ok but at least cheap. Word of warning, it is dark, smoky, and a total dive. | astrofrk (1), Knoxville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | February 28, 2009 [ Updated September 6, 2009 ] Largest bottled beer selection in Knoxville.
One of the best Tap selections with a special hookup with Olde Hickory. Food selection is small as is the kitchen. I would like to see Union Jacks expand but not move too far. Bartenders "Val & Laura" are nice, attractive and down to earth. They know thier beers, all beers are low gravity. Costomers are faithfull and intelligent without being snobby. This has become my favorite watering hole in K-Town. If you don’t like the selection, leave Knoxville because you won’t find any better. | ccreel67 (1), Knoxville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | March 24, 2008 Yes, Union Jack’s is a great place. It’s a Pub for beer lovers. They have the largest selection of Import Brands I have seen any where in the southeast U.S. The service is always quick and friendly. | recordjunkie5 (4), Nashville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | April 8, 2007 Great place, tiny little pub with a sh*tload of craft beers. Lots on tap, some in bottles. It gets smoky, yes, but I smoke-so dont give a damn. If you want good food, go to Naples Italian right down the street on Kingston Pk. | | nearbeer (98), Knoxville, Tennessee | | February 23, 2007 [ Updated August 16, 2009 ] If you want bright lights, corporate muzak, industrial beer and grilled chicken sandwiches - don’t go to UJ’s. If you like a cozy atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, good beer, darts, pool and foosball, head on down that way. One of the best beer selections in Knoxville. Does get a bit smoky and too crowded for me about 9 -10, but I’m just an old beer-drinker - what do I know? | shendrix (7), Waukesha, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | January 11, 2007 Hell, if you don’t like dives, drink wine. This is actually a nicely undestated bar’s bar. A decent place to get a good brew--they’ve got plenty--and run a little stick. | | jewedekind (36), Middleton , Wisconsin | | September 10, 2006 This place is a dirty, smokey dive with mangy taps but a good selection of bottles. Nice jukebox. Generally I do not recommend this place at all unless you are stoned. | | NachlamSie (212), Tennessee | | January 16, 2006 Nice reserved place, dim and isolated at night. It can get a little crowded sometimes, though. The pub fare is tasty and there are more bottles here than anywhere in knoxville, even possibly counting beer stores. Good tap selection which is pretty stable and offers many regional brews. There’s a beer special 5 out of 7 days all day long and it’s a cozy place to hang out. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | January 10, 2006 This is about as good as it gets for beer selection at a bar in Knoxville, especially bottles. Pretty good food, too. It tends to get unpleasantly crowded after midnight, though. |
