| Fatumsch (15), | | July 21, 2009 The beer is always solid here. They typically have one or two seasonals on tap to help keep things a little interesting. | | lithy (98), Knoxville, Tennessee | | April 2, 2009 Pretty average brewpub. Decent enough building, clean, cool shelves of empty bottles lining the entire place. Was fun to pick out some of them. Beer itself is standard fare. Food was the same, serviceable. Service was alright. Just very mediocre all around. | | nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 3, 2009 Visited this place several times in the last 2-3 months. Beer selection has been better, with a cask version of their porter available, along with 6-7 other beers. The service was TERRIBLE. That is the only gripe I have. Took 30 minutes before I got beer. The food isn’t any good either, so go for the beer sampler and hit the road. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | December 28, 2008 I really liked the brick building and the beer themed stained glass windows. The waitress was polite and didnt even question me meticulously rating the sampler. But the beers were nothing special. Mediocre at best. And my cobb salad was actually pretty terrible. They did make a decent bowl of chili though, so I guess it was my fault for ordering a salad at a brewpub. If you are visiting this place, I would DEFINITELY recommend crossing the street and grabbing a beer or two from the Broadway Brewhouse. | rthbass (6), Vancouver, Washington does not count - explanation | | August 20, 2008 Great restaurant! Very cool and vibey bar area with large bright/serving tanks. Great food and a decent waitstaff. Not a huge selection of beers on tap, maybe 6 or 7, and only a couple are usually worth having. But it’s a great place non the less! | | BlackDonald (59), Boise, Idaho | | August 3, 2008 This is a classy looking joint. Marble bar with comfy low backed chairs, and a sharp looking draft system with no identifiying gimmicky handles. An nice looking chalkboard greets you with the fare for the day. Six beers on tap, 4 regular and 2 seasonals and 1 cask selection. Good view of the brewing area and a super friendly bartender. We had a fun converstaion about the recent CBC in San Diego. Great library like drinking room. Old world ambiance here, like walking into another place alltogether and leaving Nashville behind if only for a moment. | | CaptBier (19), Birmingham, Alabama | | May 1, 2008 Stop 2 on beer tour 08. Nice place. Very accomodating. One of the apprentice brewers stopped being a waiter for a night and showed us around. A very nice place. | | BBB63 (98), La Porte , Indiana | | March 14, 2008 Average beers with the handpull Maris Otter being the best. The food selection was nice and the service prompt. My second time visiting when passing through and will again if time is available. | | arjoseph (30), Chicago, Illinois | | November 9, 2007 I am highly appreciative of this place, just like Boscos and Yazoo, because there’s really nothing else in Nashville. My homerism will up the rating a little bit. Very solid beers, very attentive service, very solid and reasonably priced food. Essential if you’re in Music City. | rsteagall (9), does not count - explanation | | July 16, 2007 Blackstone is always good. 2-3 samplers and I’m toast! :) I like all their beer so much, samplers is usually all I order. The food is always great. Service is restaurant style hit-n-miss. The brew masters are very nice and willing to give tours even if not scheduled (if you catch them at the right time). One of my favorite places to go in Nashville. Selection gets a 15 because there is no need for them to represent anyone else. They usually have about 8 of their own beers on tap. :) |
