| yemenmocha (63), Glendale, Arizona | | September 20, 2009 Wasatch Brewpub in Park City has what I call an "old school" brewpub feel to it - it reminds you of the way brewpubs were 10-12 years ago when brewpubs started to spread. Why? The atmosphere, traditional pub fare, brewpub humor shirts (We Drink Our Share and Sell the Rest! ... Good for what Ales you!).
Given the 3.2% restrictions, Wasatch has come up with some amazing results. Their Hefe-weizen, available year-round, is IMO the best in Utah. Great bananna clove, very drinkable, and simply delicious sans lemon. Other ales such as Polygamy Porter and Superior Ale are worth venturing into, but my bet is you’ll stick with their stellar Hefe.
Food quality is "good." No complaints, many items clearly above par. Pizzas have a very, very fresh homemade dough crust that is fantastic! Cuisine is slanted towards fish and other meats, but the veggie folks can find a few items too.
Selection of beer is usually 5-6 regular taps with 1-2 guest taps and/or seasonals (total 1-2). They usually offer an ale on cask as well. Oh, I almost forgot to mention - beer is served in cool 20oz. dimpled mugs. Very few places do this any longer. Nothing like a porter in a dimpled mug!
Value is good reasonable on the whole, but VERY reasonable if you consider the context of pricey Park City. | | Wasatch (14), Utah | | October 26, 2008 [ Updated December 16, 2009 ] Finally got over to this place. Nice little place on the main drag in Park City. There’s a dinning area, bar, and gift shop in the building. There was about 8-9 brew’s on tap (had 3 brews). I ordered the pub burger, which was very good, with some potatoe chips, and pickle on the side. The atmosphere was nice, met a couple from GA that were there for some sking. They were acclimating to the higher altitude, they were tired. Nice cozy place, you could see some snow falling out the windows. Would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
| | ajm (163), Los Angeles, California | | September 14, 2008 [ Updated October 5, 2008 ] I would almost make a trip to Park City just for this place - I had a good time. Ambiance is lacking: like a Black Angus but a quarter of the size. Service rating is because it takes a noticeable amount of time to get a beer, even when sitting at the beer bar. Selection is only their stuff but the range is impressive. Food looks genius - there is a daily special and a daily stew special. Awesome. | | Ibrew2or3 (161), Safety Harbor, Florida | | July 8, 2008 Located at the top of the hill of the general shopping district. Great location. Inside and outside dining available. I sat at the bar and tried a few of the house offerings. The bartender was . . . interesting lets say. He made it pretty clear a few times that he didn’t want to be there. So the tone he set didn’t make for a pleasant experience. I saw typical pub grub being offered that I didn’t get a chance to try. I’ll be back at some point hopefully greeted by more cheerful staff. The experiences at the SLC craft beer locations were wonderful making this stop a let down. | | footbalm (54), Salt Lake City, Utah | | April 13, 2008 I stepped into the T-shirt shop and stumbled upon the GM of the place. Douglas88 and I talked beer with him for a while and he was very cool. The food was okay, the brews were low ABV but not bad. Not to mention the special tour and tasting from the manager. | | douglas88 (51), Salt Lake City, Utah | | April 12, 2008 [ Updated August 6, 2008 ] A great location at the top of Main Street in Park City. The food was nice, and the service was great. Kevin, the manager, was just awesome. Thanks for the tour. The beers are very good, some are not available in Salt Lake, or anywhere else really. I had a lot of fun and I’ll some back soon. | | josarah (68), Hinesburg, Vermont | | March 15, 2007 Cool place, great location and good beer, what else do you need. Unfortunately we did not time our visit around meal time. Great gift shop! | | BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | February 12, 2006 What can you say about Park City that has not already been said? That was the place they should have stopped. If you know what I am talking about enough said. (LOL)
The setting at top of Main Street gives you the feeling you are somewhere special. Love the Pub it is for all ages so that is good with young kids. They do have a bar for the older kids. The food is great. They have a huge selection of pub food and the sandwiches are great. Now for the beer 8 samples come out on the tray and they are awesome. If you have done your homework Micro Brews in Utah are not 3.2% so give them a try they are going to surprise you. They can brew a higher percentage beer and it is good. If ever looking for the good beer in Utah just go to a liquor stores they will have it there. The regular store beer is 3.2% only the liquor stores have the real stuff. Just like most states regular liquor laws apply and open on Monday – Saturday. So do not tell me it is not possible to get good Brew in Utah there laws are not that much different. Back to Wasatch this is a place to go to and have a great time you never know you might see a star we saw Hot Rod Hundley and Thurl “Big T” Bailey. You will have fun and in Utah.
| | Braudog (478), Dayton, Ohio | | July 31, 2005 This place is at the top of the hill in Park City, so start at the bottom and climb and them use this as your reward at the top. They offer pretty good beers and good-enough food. | | bu11zeye (112), Frisco, Texas | | September 17, 2004 Great place to sit down, warm up, and sip some descent beers. |
