I took the beer class there and had a good time, but honestly, the beer there tastes like all the rest of the beer in Utah -no better, no worse.. Can’t put my finger on it, but there is a general, basic flavor to Utah beer.. kind of as if malt was being used to mask something, like say, the lack of alchohol? People talk about 3.2 ABV just being a number, but honestly most micros in utah are far below that figure as if they mistakenly go over 3.2, the fines levied will wipe them out. That said, the food in the "beer school" was amazing. The guy who ran it was allready drunk when it started, (but whatever, we all were when the night ended), The amber were good, but the wheat beer tasted liked coors with hops. the stout was quite bitter, good if you are into that sort of thing. I’ll stick to homebrewing and bottles, but if you’re ever out christmas shopping in the mall and want to lose the wife for a couple pints, this is the place to go.

Well, I finally got on over to this place. It’s a nice little place with a few TVs and music playing. My server was a cute lady which knew something about the beers they had. I had the Mushroom burger on a wheat bun with some potatoe chips and a green salad. The food was pretty good, but a little bit on the pricey side. This was a Saturday afternoon, so the crowd tended to be older. The atmosphere was nice. The service was great as well. I would definitely go back for seconds. I’m writing a review of the beers I had as well.

Desert Edge is kind of unique. They have food that tends towards lighter and healthier. Well, I guess that’s the unique part. Unfortunately, I think the beer has dropped in quality. About a year ago, I loved it. A lot of the offerings were interesting, or at least solid. The last couple of times I’ve gone there this wasn’t the case. In particular it tastes like the beer was made with old hops, giving it this grassy flavor. It’s unfortunate because I really like the place (especially the hot roast beef sandwich!)

This place is tucked away into a small rustic looking shopping and dining plaza. I’ve been told the food is excellent. Very organic and healthy fare. I’ll have to try some next time I’m able to stop by. They had about six house offerings on tap including one nitro and one cask option. More proof the SLC’s craft brew scene is blooming with places like Red Rock, Bayou and Squatters all just a couple minute drive from here.

A kid of trendy spot that had okay food and beers that are brewed there but that have very little flavor.

The brewpub is located inside a sort of mall complex called trolley square. The overall feel is like a restaurant of OK quality. The prices are great, and the food is quite good, with a bunch of healthy stuff. The beer is also above average, especially in the context of Utah’s stupid beer laws they do a great job. I like this place a lot. During the week it’s pretty damn quite, but weekends are busy.

Located in a strange mall-like building that was under renovations when I was there, making it nearly impossible to find. Only had two beers while I was here, but I was impressed with the quality of both. Sandwich I had tasted good but was a little bit sloppy. The decor is a bit uninspired., sort of typical brewpub. Good service and I think it’s worth a stop if you’re in SLC.

A nice place to start my Great Utah Beer Run – Summer 2007 In trolley square the place was in a loft and had some nice food, the beers where at times so so. This was a typical college hangout as you can tell with some good beer prices they just need to brew better beer. The service was nice and the bartender had some beer knowledge and told me about the beer laws of which helps. 1 down 8 to go.

Nice place, great food, some of the beers are really bad (don’t get the stout), one of the bar tenders had a t-shirt that said 3.2 and proud... really? This place gets points for the $5 pitchers for college students after 2 pm

First visit in 2000 and last in June 2003: This is an odd location in a renovated shopping area. Both times, I was underimpressed by the lack of cleaniness. They have a couple different styles of beer, which is nice. Most of the beers were average at best, but they had an awesome hoppy pale ale.
