| HoppyHippie (10), Somerville, New Jersey | | September 10, 2009 great beer and people! | | joebudzjoe (19), Connecticut | | July 9, 2009 I’ve visited the brewery a few times. It’s basically just a gift store, a brief tour and a sampling station. At the sampling station you can sample about 15 of their beers on draft and their growlers are reasonable (7 bucks if you bring your own growler). A must stop for Magic Hat drinkers. | | MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | July 7, 2009 The eclectic decor in the gift shop/tasting room and the dark lighting translate well the company’s image. The free tap samples are always fun, even though I can’t say their beer ever transcends into masterpiece territory. Everything they brew is crisp and clean, but never memorable to me. You can get growlers here at the tasting room, and you can also get decent info on the 9-10 beers offered because the waitresses are usually well trained and knowledgeable. If you do not want to wait for the mezzanine-level tour of the brewery, you can walk it yourself. | | lalu (15), Morin Heights, Quebec | | May 6, 2009 Super cool place, great gift shop.Very friendly service.A cool place to visit.
too bad i dont care for the beer they brew. | | FanwickMike (33), | | September 26, 2008 beer tour, 09/221/08. Stopped by in the off chance they were having a tour, but construction prohibited that. The section of the facility which was open to the public was known as the Artifactory, and it was a very cool place, combination pub/store/tasting room with an interesting bar (looked to be granite?) in a semi-circular formation. Girl at the bar, Marla, was very friendly and reasonably well-informed. I tried all the beers they currently had on tap, #9, lucky kat, circus boy, jinx, hocus focus and a scotch ale whose name escapes me. I also noted that they had a pre-prohibition type ale, and Marla quickly went and grabbed a bottle of that for me to try as well. A very nice stop on our tour. | WhoKnewBrew (1), Burlington, Vermont does not count - explanation | | September 25, 2008 A fun environment. There artifactory store is wonderful as well as their pub. I haven’t toured the brewery yet because of construction, but there staff are very knowledgeable and fun. | | blinesam (21), | | August 29, 2008 8/08 Currently there is construction at the brewery so tours are not running so I can’t rate that.
went to the gift shop/tap room. Had at least 6 or 7 samples of beer including the highly touted chaotic chemistry. Staff was initially curt, but when I started asking questions the staff was extremely friendly. Feels like the Disney world of breweries, had little beer on sale but interesting beer soap, so thats that trade off i guess.
Worth the trip. | Hopdup (5), Tampa, Florida does not count - explanation | | March 8, 2008 Went there a few year back an a whim since we were in Burlington. We missed the tour so they let us tour by oursevlves. When we finished our tour we sampled and re-sampled for about an hour . We finished off with buying a few half gallon growlers. We had a great time and drank alot of good beer. The only down side is I had to go to be early that night . | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 13, 2008 Enjoyed a walk through of their collector’s shop, which had magic hat everything in it. We didn’t have time for the tour, but others said it was good, and we enjoyed a browse through the bottling area. They offer tastings in the shop (full bar in the back) and only limit the samples based on VT law, which was 4 at the time. Of course, you can buy many of their speciality brews right there on the spot. Definitely a hippie environment and somewhat dark inside, but I’m fine with that (nothing you wouldn’t expect after visiting their website). | | Vac (38), San Diego, California | | January 8, 2008 This was a fun brewery to visit. They definitely play to the Hippy crowd as is evident with there beer names. The tour was fun and informative. The tasting room was one of the best I’ve been in as for as making sure you have a good time while your there. |
