LittleItaly (3), , does not count - explanation | | October 5, 2009 Love this place on nice days! Just sittling outside enjoying a good beer and good food! | | sroberts (26), Columbia, Missouri | | September 7, 2009 Great place for beer and thin crust pizza. | | Strykzone (40), Wood River, Illinois | | September 2, 2009 Have been there twice and sat outside both times. A beer menu that is beyond impressive. Always new stuff. Food has been good both times but is the secondary reason that I go. Those 50 some taps and wonderful bottle list is. It is located in my favorite area of St. Louis, the U City Loop area. There is always so much going on there and people watching is great. | | phaleslu (90), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 17, 2009 [ Updated October 26, 2009 ] The Loop is a fun area of town and this is toward the western end of it. I went to plenty of shows there in college before the big fire, and it’s a totally different-looking place now. Instead of a smoky, low-lit, neon-decorated place, the new Cicero’s is bright, clean, and decorated with art. The clientele hasn’t changed, which is good. The music venue is still there. The food is excellent, with great St. Louis style pizza, huge salads, and a lot of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, entrees, and pasta dishes. Probably over 100 bottles, with a wide range of styles and places represented. The 40-50 taps also represent a wide range of styles and local, regional, national, and international brews. Constantly changing selection, so you can pretty much always find something new. I’ll keep coming back here. | | lizziec (10), , | | June 17, 2009 Great selection of beer on tap, one of the best in the area. Food is good. Worth a trip. | | Apollo (10), | | February 1, 2009 Great bar for beer and pizza. 50 tap handles and a lot of bottle. Could use some updating, but overall a great experience. | | MrBunn (53), Western, Pennsylvania | | July 10, 2008 Stopped in for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be good, but it was even better. I’d guess they had 65-ish beers on tap with many, many other bottles. Service sitting at the bar was fantastic... I asked about how a couple of kolsches compared and I was given samples to check them out. Just a sip or so, but a really nice touch. Food was superb. I had the Philly wrap and recommend it. | | Walt (185), Chicago, Illinois | | March 23, 2008 I don’t know about killer pizza, but it was pretty good...we were there on a weekend so seating was hard to come by and service was mediocre...pretty solid bottle list and some good taps... | krysztofar (5), belleville, Illinois does not count - explanation | | October 14, 2007 this is a good place for draft beer fans. they have two bars both of which sport a crap tone of tap heads, probably over sixty between them. proper glassware is not always employed. food here can be good, the pizza is pretty great. however it depends on which pot head drops your fries, or which waitress fucks up your order. it can also be a bad time. plus you have to like hippies because they love this place. a lot of jam bands play here in the second room where one of the two bars is. there are also pool table and video games if you’re into that stuff. mostly imported stuff on tap without a lot of surprises but none the less good choices. | | SpudClampDawg (43), Jasper, Indiana | | September 16, 2007 This place is kind of strange. It is split into a "chain" feeling family restaurant, beer bar area with pool tables and video games and a back/seperated dingy room where the bands play. The taps are extensive, but not overly impressive. Same with the bottle collection - a LOT to choose from, just nothing really exciting or unusual. (I hate to say that, it makes me feel like my days of discovering lots of great beers are coming to an end:( )
I had tap selections Schlafly seasonal, St Bernardus, La Chouffe and a bottle of Sam Smith Oatmeal. They did have a few bottles of Goose Island BCS in the cellar. Definiately worth a stop if you’re in the area. |
