10 reviews for Seven Barrel Brewery
| MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | July 21, 2009 This run-of-the-mill brewpub was full of locals when I visited, and most of them were not drinking beer. Figures. The house selections were just a selection of colours and lacked inspiration and depth. For some reason, with the setting and country music, I felt like I was in southern US. Everyone stared at us as we walked in to the bar area?!? Anyway, the quality of the beers here were mediocre at best, so I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon. | | beerbuzzmontreal (20), Montreal, Quebec | | March 9, 2009 The place looks like a family restaurant, the ambiance is ok. The service is good, but the staff doesn’t seem too knowledgable. The food was ok. The beer selection is wide, but the overall quality of the beers is average. | | 6ROW (23), corpus christi, Texas | | January 28, 2009 stop here on the way back from longtrail.a small place with about 15 tables and standad pub fare. I had the sampler and the staff knew sometihing about beer. | | FanwickMike (33), | | September 26, 2008 beer tour 09/24/08 stopped in for dinner on our way to Windsor, VT. None of the beers stood out particularly, neither positively or negatively, although my preference was for the RIP stout. The food also was forgettable, not bad or exceptional. A benign spot on our tour. | | VTHopHead (36), Barre, Vermont | | June 1, 2008 A decent brewpub with a good selection of more than just pub food... although they have that too. Beer here is somewhat inconsistent... excellent one time and only fair the next. They occasionally have live entertainment on the weekends and I have heard some good local bands here. I’ll go back... | | puboflyons (26), New Hampshire | | May 27, 2008 Seven Barrels is a brew pub that is very easy to get to off I-89 in West Lebanon, N.H. It is the first exit after leaving Vermont. You can see their sign from the interstate (at least coming from Vermont) so I don’t think you can miss it. It is located next to a shopping plaza so there is free parking nearby. There’s a nice, traditional Brit-pub style interior and a menu that is typical for pubs and taverns with burgers, other assorted sandwiches, appetizers, and cheese and gravy fries somestimes known as Poutine in Canada. They are definitely appealing to the Dartmouth College crowd, which is just a few miles away. You can buy growlers of their brews for $10.00. The brews are not bad. Nothing extraordinary but seriously, not bad. | | josarah (68), Hinesburg, Vermont | | April 30, 2008 Stopped while on the road, getting in and out of the parking lot can be challenging, once there parking is ample. Good cheap pub fare, good service. The beers were true to style, just not anything remarkable. Worth stopping. | | Cletus (175), Connecticut | | February 20, 2008 Stopped by here on my way back from VT. When getting off I-89, make a right, get in your left lane and turn left at the first light. Then make a left into the Walgreens parking lot and continue straight through the lot to the brewpub. This is the easiest way to get there when getting off the highway. The brewpub is a smaller version of VT Pub and Brewery with a modest but nice selection of beer. The beers are well made but not beer geek oriented. They offer 2-3 cask versions of their beer typically. The menu is inexpensive pub fare. The staff is friendly. A great place to stop if you have an interest in brewpubs and easy enough to get to. It’s only 2 miles from White River Junction and is close to Harpoon. | | DYCSoccer17 (187), Davis, California | | June 21, 2006 Stopped here on a Monday afternoon. This place is directly in front of you off of exit 20. I believe the best way to get into this place is to take a right and then do a U-turn. Exterior looks kinda of old and shabby. The brewing equipment is in the front of the building, while the entrance is on the right. Dark interior with a fairly large bar area and sort of a seperate seating area as well. There are 3 or 4 TVs scattered and all within a decent view. Fermentation tanks were on the back wall of the bar. They had 6 regulars on tap, plus 1 seasonal. They also had 2 of those beers on cask as well. The styles of these beers are your typical brewpub styles without anything overly interesting. They did have a Canadian-style lager as well as a Cream Ale on simultaneously. The food was ok, I had the cheese platter, which was tasty. The menu shared many items with their sister location, the VT Pub and Brewery. There were a few other similarities between the 2 places. I think VT is better beerwise and there is no smoking there, unlike this location. The service I received was prompt and courteous, but that was probably due to me being there on a Monday midday. | | muzzlehatch (255), Burlington, Vermont | | June 8, 2005 I’ve had the beer at the VT brewer’s fest and visited the brewpub a couple of times...not impressed. Visually homey and cozy, a warm feeling on my way in...but not being a local, I got pretty lousy service both times I was there, got the impression I was hassling the bartender by asking for samples which are ridiculously small and uniformly average. Only food I had was fries, so-so. Probably won’t be back unless I hear there’s bee a real turnaround. |
