| ¾ (631), Boulder, Colorado | | December 30, 2009 americanized brewery in vienna, it’s just not my bag. the 1516 hop devil was, honestly, superb, but the rest of the beer was so-so and the staff was inattentive (yes, by european standards). the interior seemed to be a cross between a TGIF and a night club. hideously lit interior was filled with cigarette smoke. the patio was better but smoke was still difficult to avoid. the neighborhood and character of the patrons (us ex-pats) was not attractive to my tastes. | | MrsReaves (11), Meckel, Germany | | December 28, 2009 MrReaves and I checked this place out this weekend. It was one of a few places open on Christmas Day. We got comfy and ended up staying for 6 hours. The beers were all mighty tasty--my fave being the IPA, his being the ones served in a glass--and the food was good. Kinda sucks that they don’t have free WiFi, but they do allow smoking inside and our waitress brought us a pack of smokes when we ran out. We tried 2 of the regular beers minus the Radler as well as the 6 specials on tap. All good, and we will def. Go back next time in Wien. Prost!! | | Pyobon (11), Sydney, Australia | | October 16, 2009 Good beer drinkers bar. Excellent pleasant service - attentive but not intrusive. They do food, that looks good, but I didn’t try. Good music and vibe. A bit smokey. | | gyllenbock (29), Stockholm, Sweden | | September 21, 2009 A very nice place with great food, good and friendly service and some fine beers. The location was in the centre of Vienna, not far from our hotel. (Radisson)
The beer that I enjoyed most was the Victory Hop Devil IPA, very nice to drink a local beer like that in Austria.
| | potbeercollege (11), Boulder, Colorado | | July 28, 2009 Great food, great location, fun service! We had a drunk man try to get us to sit with him and he even bought a rose for my girlfriend. Thankfully the staff recognized the situation and got us at another table away from him. Besides that, fun crowd, and fun to watch some soccer and drink beer. beer was great... great selection, something for everyone! i would recommennd to anyone | | Celebrator (14), Vienna, Austria | | March 8, 2009 Great beers, especially we like the Hop Devil (IPA). Beer menue changes regularly. Very good burgers and nice atmosphere. Only american style brew pub in Vienna. Staff on the upper floor is very slow. | | MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | January 8, 2009 I guess I came in on a bad day...Service was extreeeemely slow on this afternoon. There was one server for the entire bar area, which was full of patrons, so it took 25 minutes to get a beer given to us. Absolutely ridiculous. The guy was friendly and all, but he simply couldn’t do more than he was doing at that moment. The place itself is a nice bar, quite different and more modern than the brewpubs/breweries you get in Central Europe or Germany. It definitely caters to tourists as English is spoken everywhere at all times. The styles brewed are decidedly adventurous for the region, but as a North American, I did not feel anything special was being brewed here. The only beer I loved was the Hop Devil, but that is not really theirs, is it? The kartoffelsuppe mit pancetta was a fine and creamy soup which hit the spot after long walks in the cold December air. That being said, I will come back to try the place again the next time I am in Vienna, but for now I am under the impression that some people love this | | ogivlado (145), Zagreb, Croatia | | January 4, 2009 Place rate No 100.
<br />With 7 Stern the best brewpub in Vienna. On two floors with several LCD monitors with NBA and NHL games at evenings. Excellent beers, friendly staff, highly recomended. Don’t order tea, it’s highly expensive 4€. | AmicusBeer (3), Toronto, Ontario does not count - explanation | | October 13, 2008 Best brew pub in vienna by far. Staff are excellent, beer is great, smoking is allowed, good selection of Cuban cigars for sale. Food is very good also. Gets pretty busy. People are very friendly also. Many tourists show up here. | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | October 7, 2008 Visited in September 2008. The house special beers were excellent as was the goulash. A lively atmosphere, being a focal point for English speakers in Vienna, with very attentive service. |
