58 Popped in on my way to Folly from Bellwoods. Unfortunately, the bouncer at the door put me off and the whole atmosphere seemed more exclusive than the dive bar decor warranted so we didn’t stay long. |
86 Not all of the bars I frequent have what they do to me in the name but when they do I like to go back.
I blame any headaches in the morning to banging my head on the ceiling in the bathroom. |
68 A dive geek bar, about time. Floors are sticky, open late and you don’t want to look at anything too long or you might find something disgusting. Video games are free, but they reset the score daily which sucks. Pinball you pay for. They swapped the brewer for a pizza oven, and I didn’t eat. Selection is OK, but a bit pricey. A fun late night spot if you have already had a few. |
68 A hipster hangout but don’t let that put you off. A decent beer selection and at reasonable prices. I didn’t see any of their house beers on tap however? Food is limited to pizza and salads. For the old school heads, they have arcade machines at the back but I don’t even think they work. Far from a dive bar but a fun place regardless. It’s also very close to Bellwoods. |
68 Visited on a fairly quiet Wednesday evening in June 2013, but have been meaning to go back. Quiet country music was playing in the background, and the place is full of some great old paintings and has a large cafeteria floor. Maybe a dozen taps available, mostly interesting brews. It got busier the later we stayed into the evening. Service was friendly enough and I think we just ordered at the bar and brought pints back. The free arcade games in the back were a nice surprise for me -- I haven’t heard "The Red Warrior needs food badly" in over a decade! Also, I wish the bar had food. But other than that, it’s a nice place. |
66 When I’ve visited: A few times since moving to Toronto.
What I’ve had: Wellington Shangri-la IPA, Get Well All Shook Down Rye PA, Hopfenweisse, and Pinball Wizard APA on tap, other beers, white wine for my girlfriend.
What I like: Cool atmosphere, always able to find seats at the bar, servers are friendly and happy to provide samples, draft selection is tiny but well-selected, love the fact that they have cask, fair prices, like Toronto’s version of Barcade.
What I dislike: None of the house beers have impressed me that much, hipster clientele is not my scene, no food available AFAIK, I usually only come here if Bellwoods is too packed.
Would I go back? If I’m in the area or Bellwoods is super busy, yes.

74 Dark and uniquely furnished/decorated, but who cares. Draft and bottle selection excellent, house made beers also top notch. Lack of food made up for by the free arcade games. Stopped in for a quick pint but will return. |
68 The decore here is quite eclectic, but i dig it. The old arcade games are quite cool, the old vintage 70’s strip joint signs are pretty bad ass. And the MASSIVE Stalin painting is wild. The serive was at the bar when i was there, and it was quic, polite and prompt. Didnt try any food......not even sure if they have any. a very Hipster place, if i lived in the area i would probably be in there often. |
70 An interesting spot, the decor is sort of diner meets arcade meets funky dive bar, generally in a good way. The crowd is eclectic, skewing youngish the time we were there. (e.g. it was getting busy around 10pm on a week night when we were heading home!) The house beers are servicable and generally pretty decent. Good selection of vintage arcade games in the back. Decent selection of craft beer in addition to their own house beers. More of a local bar than a beer destination imho, trying their house beers will be the primary draw for out of towners, but well worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood. Around the corner from Bellwoods. |
80 I like this place. It is run by people that still care about their place , not just another temp student... They have 10-12 taps mostly house brews. They also have 98 bottled beers at reasonable prices. Their Alt is one of best in America. You like 80s aracade games?- you will be in luck as they are free... |
