Mill Street Brewpub - Toronto

Mayor: Cimbasso (1) | Taps: 14 | Bottles: 6
Located in the heart of the Historic Distillery District, Mill Street Brew Pub operates out of the Mill Street Brewery. Mill Street Brewery was East Toronto’s first commercial micro-brewery to open in more than 100 years! Our on-site brewery still produces a great number of our small batch seasonals, so come down for the full brewery experience by taking a seat right next to the brewing action.

It was bit before noon we arrived, so pretty empty. But it's a large place and can fit whole small Estonian town in it so I might be wrong. Anyway nice service by all those countless barmaids who served us, asked how is everything and brought the bill. Worth to visit if in area.

Large Brewpub at the Distillery District. Lots of tourist and pretty more expensive, but we spent a nice time during NBA playoffs here. Food was ok, also the beers.

Close to Ontario Lake Shore, small selection of beers (some of them quite bizarre), decent food and rather high prices.

Visited July 2016. Brewpub in a very touristy area of the city, the Distillery District. The beers were nothing special, nice to try but pretty standard fare.

A pretty touristy hot spot that is more of an attraction than a beer destination. All the usual problems and complaints with being this kind of place, but it is cheap and they do have one offs and beers not easily available. I would go for a tick or two but wouldn't recommend to geeks.

Sat outside for a pricey but decent lunch with son. Busy, touristy, dear, and beers I had were competent at best. Son rated his root beer though.

Beautiful location. Place was absolutely packed. Service was slowish and not that attentive but ok given the size of the crowd. Food was ok. Beer was only Meh.

As plenty of others have mentioned, this place is in the middle of the Distillery District, which is kitschy as kitschy can be - especially if you happen to visit during the Christmas market, which my girlfriend and I did. This means Mill St. tends to be crowded, and that crowd tends to be raucous - even on a Thursday evening. If you’re looking for somewhere relatively quiet, this is not for you. Service seems to be hit or miss - our experience seated indoors was subpar, while our experience at the outdoor bar was good. The food is a bit pricey, and is not quite up to the standards one might expect for the price point. Regarding the beer, this is not a brewery that caters to the hophead crowd - which means that I rather enjoyed their beers. There was an assortment of lagers and porters, most of which were all right, a couple of which were rather tasty. I’d return on my next stop in Toronto, but just to have a beer or three.

I don’t like sports bars, and I don’t like pre-fabricated frozen food assembled purely for high profits. The beer here has hits and misses, and I rarely enjoy mill street beers they try to dream up for novelty. I would give it a pass. You can tick ratings all you want.

Huge space inside the restaurant with on-site brewery. There’s a retail shop to the left as you walk in flogging the Mill St. merchandise and wares. It all feels a little corporate. I ordered a tasting flight at the bar and the beers were clean but dull. Nothing offensive. The bartender was friendly and he was much more excited about the house brews than I, but good to see the enthusiasm. The Distillery District is a lovely area to stroll around, and worth visiting the nearby sake house too.
