Essentially three different environs in the original Carmel library in the artsy section of Carmel, you can sit outdoors on the patio, inside in a cozy classic restaurant, or downstairs in the sports bar. Owned by locals Kevin and Rochelle (she formerly the exec chef at Scholar’s downtown), food is excellent. Had duck in a nice cranberry sauce one night, elk the next. Beer selection is not deep, and too many of the same style for my taste, but there are some gems. September ’09 has Aventinius, even served in the Aventinus glass, and for $6. Would like to see a bit more local representation (no Three Floyds Beer in an Indiana pub?), but maybe with a little encouragement.....
