10 reviews for Beverage Warehouse
| Grovlam (46), Copenhagen, Denmark | | June 24, 2009 Good p.ace to go when in L.A. Ok selection and friendly people. Many local beers that I was missing. | | BMan1113VR (108), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | May 21, 2009 Quite possibly my new favorite beer store in LA. Warehouse setting. Complete disorder...AMAZING SELECTION of beers and spirits at a very fair price. Where else can you go and find cases of Angel’s Share and Mirror Mirror on the floor in between the Left Coast Hop Juice and Miller light...Awesome. People working the cash registers are homebrewers too, so there is an added plus! | | can8ianben (67), Pasadena, California | | April 26, 2009 Beer is in the back behind the liquor and wine. Quite a large selection - both craft micros and international macros - including a few labels I haven’t found in SoCal - Dogfish Head is one that stands out in my mind. Beyond that there is a lot of stuff that you can find in most stores. They do sell singles, which is really nice. Service was fine, the isle/warehouse thing makes for tight quarters if there are a few other customers in the store. | tdaglow (6), Minnesota does not count - explanation | | October 26, 2008 I’m not from L.A. but this is the place I’ll go every time I’m there to try stuff I can’t get. The warehouse thing was cool. I loved the whole stacks of beer and huge six pack wall. I’m sure it’s a maintenance nightmare. I was really disappointed buy the service. I actually got more service help from the Stone Brewing Co. driver that was dropping off while I was there. He was actually dropping off Vertical Epic 8.8.08. The guy working the beer section was a complete prick though. I wanted some 8.8. 08 and he not only told me I couldn’t have any but that he was on his break and couldn’t help me at the moment. I work in a liquor store and I understand that sometimes it takes a little while to get pricing. I also understand the importance of break time but this guy was pretty much jumped down my throat as soon as I started talking to him. It was early afternoon on a weekday and I had a lot of time to shop but I left after that. I spent about $200 bucks and would have spent $500 if it hadn’t been for the incredibly bad service. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | August 15, 2008 I like going here - I enjoy a nice warehouse ambiance now and again, though I wish this place were darker. It’s usually a one-stop shop (rarities excluded). I like Lone Hill and Sun Devil better as far as pure bottle shops. | | WeeHeavySD (102), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | March 26, 2008 The name says it all, its a beverage warehouse, Beer Selection was decent and prices were competitive on most beers. I only left with 2 bottles a Highway to Ale and a 16 year ola dubh. Overall decent place with a strange location. | | illidurit (14), Santa Cruz, California | | January 27, 2008 I was happy to finally find some Victory and Avery brews in California but I nearly jumped out of my shoes when I saw a couple YuleSmiths. AleSmith and Stone are very well represented, and the Belgian selection is great. Plenty of trappists and St Bernardus, as well as some rarities like the black label Girardin Gueuze 1882 and a Fantome or two. Saw some neat Port Brewing beers there too.
As the name states, this place is a warehouse, so don’t expect the staff to be waiting on you very much. In fact the only people I saw working there were at the cash registers. Not a big problem if you know what you’re after.
The prices were the most reasonable I’ve seen for several beers. The big AleSmith beers are cheaper than at Whole Foods or any San Francisco location I’ve been to. I found a St. Bernardus Pater 6 that was in a pallet under a shelving unit and the cashier said he couldn’t find it in the system so he gave it to me free! He knew his beer too.
Only con here is that the beer is not refrigerated. It sits on shelving units on the back wall to the right of entrance, well out of the way of sunlight. Luckily the warehouse doesn’t get warm due to the cold concrete floor.
Great place, I’ll can almost guarantee I’ll be stopping there whenever I’m in Los Angeles. | slacker90291 (4), Los Angeles, California does not count - explanation | | November 19, 2007 Decent selection of imports and micro-brews. I did not see many of the 22oz bottles from their website found 12oz instead. They didn’t have any of them refrigerated which would’ve been nice. They do have good prices, though. I’d have to say this is my third favorite beer store behind Ramirez Liquor and Cap N Cork.
| | DenverLogan (60), MileHi, Colorado | | August 24, 2007 Wow...very large warm collection including on 8/6/07: Decadance $8.99, Curieux $13.99, Interlude $17.99, Duchesse $3.99, Binchoise $7.99, Buffalo $7.99, des Rocs, Girardin, Val-Dieu, Abt 12, Prior 8, Belzebuth, Stone 7-7-07, and lots more at some of the best prices in town. Rick is the beer buyer. Prices are low I’m betting because of their warehouse location. It’s worth finding. | | Odeed (14), Bakersfield , California | | May 24, 2007 this place has pretty much everything you would be able to find in los angeles, all in one place.i picked up alesmith.pizza port, russian river, and moylans, just to name a few.although i cant remeber the beer buyers name right now he is a really cool guy and very helpful. |
