If you are reading this review bacause you are considering making the trip to Beverages 4 Less, you can just stop reading now and start planning your trip. This store has an amazing selection of beers, but most importantly an owner, Fred, who has a passion for beer and for making his customers happy. I’ve never been to the store, but have dealt with Fred via the website (which is updated very frequently) and couldn’d have been more impressed. He goes out of his way to really give you your money’s worth. This store is THE place to gat any hard to find beers.

Walk into a fairly typical liquor/wine/beer store, a bit larger than most. Awesome selection of California brews as well as regionals. Import selection is pretty nice too, a lot of Mikkellar stuff. Service was great, Fred was super nice, poured us some samples, talked it up with us for a while and helped us get everything together. If you’re visiting the San Diego area, this is worth the drive. Saw some stuff here that I didn’t see anywhere else yet, including some rare gems.

Selection is over the top. Great customer service. Owner opened and shared a couple rare gems for a 1st time customer. Very nice. Nice brews kept in the cooler. More Alpine beers I’ve ever seen in 1 place. Super fresh Pliny. Lots of rare stuff in stock and at prices that were pretty good considering the inventory and the amount of stock that is held back that the owner pulls out of the back and has to sell. Costs a lot to keep that much inventory and they are basically cellaring it for you in many cases. Thought it was "to far" but it was right off the 125 so not bad at all. Supports the local brewerys to the extreme which for me is a good quality in a local beer shop. Maybe under rating the shop but I’ve only been once.

Freddy, you my friend are awesome. If anyone is looking for class act service and a world class place to buy one off beers call Freddy. I was able to have world class beers fly all the way coast to coast for a great price, reliable service and awesome packaging. Not to mention it was ridiculously fast. If you anyone is unsure of having beers shipped to them, fear not Freddy is there at Beverage 4 Less and he can surely help out. Thanks Freddy.

Heard about this place from a friend who said they had an excellent variety of beers (especialy 22 oz bottles). He wasn’t joking! Freddy (owner) was very helpful and very knowledgable about all his beers. He pointed me in the right direction as far as my taste buds are concerned. If this place doesn’t have what you’re looking for, then you probably can’t find it anywhere!! This joint is highly recommended! 2 thumbs up! Thanks Freddy!

Visited on way back from Alpine. Met the cheerful Freddy who definitely is a character in itself. Plenty of CA beers, even single bottles, lots of 22oz and some rare limited gems. I even ordered extra bottles, Freddy packed it all with me and he showed me the fedex bill and shipping system. Charges are more than fair. Thanks for the share of Port Brewing3rd anniversary. I would have stayed a lot longer to chat with him. Prices are more than fair, though some prices vary from store to store. Selection had all the CA beer someone from the East coast would love to have + some hidden gems that Freddy is not displaying.

Ive ordered from this store 2 times now, and everything is perfect. Fred is friendly and gets on your order fast and ships right away. He seems to get all the good stuff first. I will continue to order from him.

I Found this store a few months ago,after being in the area about 5 months. I try and make it in when Freddy’s there. Always get great service ,get to bs about beer, always lets you know what’s new and whats comming in. Great place! They also Have Singles.

I make the 15 minute trip every couple of weeks, or when Freddy has told me something special will be there. Like Consecration this week. He enjoys talking with beer drinkers, and it’s fun to watch the Santee Budweiser buyers stare at the rarities like they’re two-headed frogs. Great selection. Lots of 12oz bottles for singles, which is a nice touch. Overall the trip over the hill gets shorter when I know there’s a gem waiting. It’s pretty easy to drop a bill here.

My friend and I decided to visit this store on a whim, trying to look for a harder to find seasonal brew. We were more than pleasantly surprised to find out that not only was this beer in stock, Fred went out of his way to give us a tour around the store, tell us his war stories, give us his angles on beers that we were looking for and we should try, and turned our visit something much more memorable and very educational. Beverages4Less is not a liquor store nor is it BevMo. Liquor stores have a face behind the counter, ring up your six pack of Natty Ice, and cash your lottery ticket. Fred is very passionate about beer and his business and truly does what he loves. Even if I can find the ’rare’ stuff for cheaper, going out of my way into Santee to visit Fred is something I will always look forward to. First impressions are very important and he has most certainly turned me into a life-long customer.
