| theisti (71), Leawood, Kansas | | April 21, 2008 [ Updated August 11, 2008 ] I have done the tour several times. Boulevard has a very pretty and unique brewery. The tour itself is very enjoyable, always a good laugh, and great beers. You get samples at the end of the 30-45 minutes tour. On sample currently are all the regular lineup, plus one of the Smokestacks. Blvd has also cycled in some experimental beers here as well, so never really know what you will get. Tours have been selling out crazy early recently, so make sure you plan ahead. | | JoeinUccle (135), Brussels, Belgium | | April 16, 2008 A fun tour, good way to kill some time on a Saturday if you’re in KC and think ahead to make reservations. Always one or two unusual ones on tap in the tasting room. Pretty good mustard, too. I’d say it’s a must-visit for craft beer fans in the region. I’d like to get back and see the expansion and new machinery. | jusonemore (1), Kansas City, does not count | | April 3, 2008 Took the tour in Feb. 08 with a couple of local buds and one of their cousins in from Belgium. (He sure has some fine local beer!) The tours were booked weeks in advance, but we got lucky due to a cancellation. The staff seemed well-versed and enthusiatic. The viewing of the actual tanks and plumbing was from well behind glass. I work with machinery and was really hoping to get up close and personal with the hardware. I was way disappointed when we didn’t get to see the bottling line. That kind of stuff gives me a kick. At least they were anxious to get us back to the tasting room. Most of their flavors were available, including two of the Smokestack series (yum). So, yeah, I guess it was worth going, just don’t expect to see a whole lot. They are generous with the tasting, and I would have really gotten much heavier into the drinking, er, tasting, if it hadn’t been 10:30am! | | Dansting (114), Overland Park, Kansas | | June 29, 2007 Boulevard Brewing Company offers free tours on Saturdays, and they are very knowledgeable, polite, and generous. The tours are pretty quick, yet thorough, and they end with approximately 45 minutes for the tasting room, where you get full pints of any of the beers on tap that you’d like. You need to call ahead for tour reservations (they get busy around the holidays), but it is a great tour and a great time. | | vyvvy (22), Hazelwood, Missouri | | April 23, 2007 A couple weeks ago I went through the brewery tour at the new facilities. Very clean place ~ it makes you feel even safer drinking their product. They had a nice video package to watch prior to doing the tour that was well put together. The people there were pretty knowledgeable about the products. There was a time at the end for free sampling of their products which also included two test brews - Saison & IIPA. Overall a nice experience. | | thegreenrooster (35), St.louis, Missouri | | March 12, 2007 Went for the tour last weekend. First you need a reservation for the tour which I did not know but they still let me slide in. Tour was very informative and the tasting was about a half hour with most of their beers on tap. Good way to kill an hour in KC. | brewq (4), KC, Missouri does not count | | November 7, 2006
The new $25 million state of the art/World Class Brewery is already brewing! Capacity will soar from 125,000 bbls to over 700,000 in a few years.
A beautiful new facility with party rooms soon to become available.
The BLVD Team is truly a class act. | | KAggie97 (122), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring , Texas | | August 1, 2006 Snuck in for a Saturday tour with my fiancee and two friends. Very informative tour that lasts about 20-30 minutes, which is a lot longer than the Saint Arnold tour. Tasting lasts about 30 minutes, and all regular beers are available. When I was there, the current seasonal and a couple of test batches were also available. Good time. Food was pretzels and mustard. | | Indra (47), Prairie Village, Kansas | | July 8, 2005 Have taken the tour many times at Boulevard over the years. There was a bit of misinformation presented about another brewery on my last visit, but otherwise, you’ll likely learn everything you wanted to know about Boulevard. The "free beer" part of the tour comes at the end and lasts about 30 mins. Frequently, one or two of the beers that are offered at the tasting are "test batches" and commercially unavailable (example, my last trip they had a barrel-aged version of Bully Porter and a Saison). The tours are always quite full, so don’t be surprised if the next 2-3 weeks worth are booked. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | July 3, 2005 Stopped by here in November 2004. This is a quality regional brewery. They have a little gift shop and tasting counter at the brewery. Worth a visit. | View Page : 1 2
