Pivosh84 (3), Warsaw, Poland does not count - explanation | | September 26, 2009 every monday you get a 1 liter mug of good, cold czech Pilsner just for $3!! you still hate mondays? ;D | jmdahle (1), , Norway does not count - explanation | | September 24, 2009 An excellent wheat beer with fruity aroma and lingering aftertaste, nicely balanced! | | drpimento (55), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | July 12, 2009 Went there last night, conveniently only a couple of blocks from my hotel. It’s right on the corner and has a big sign out front. They had a guy in the window going solo on an electric guitar and singing. Little odd. Was doing a decent job though. As I walked in a hostes greeted me, speaking decent english and asked me if I was having dinner. I wasn’t and so was shown to the lower level. I got there at 9.30 and it wasnt’ very crowded, but everybody was seated at tables. I didn’t want to sit alone at a table and hoped that sitting at the bar, some-body may sit next to me and be a conver-sationalist. But the bar was strange: small, split in half; on one side were the taps, the credit card terminal and only two stools (I got the distinct impression that sitting on that side was the last resort so as not to get in the way of service) and on the other side, 4 or 5 stools all empty. I sat by my lonesome (boo-hoo) and tried 3 of their 4 brews. To the side was a view of some of their beer tanks and hangin all around were hop flowers still on the vine. It started getting more crowded a little bit later and the background buzz added to atmosphere. Bottom line is: fairly comfortable in a beer themed place, decent service, smallish selections, but decent beers, didn’t try any food, got a souvenir polo, prices were ok, and I’d go back. | | ladnewton (60), London, England | | June 7, 2009 Established in the summer of 2005, and occupying a large and spacious ground floor and basement, the brewpub was designed to maximise space and lighting and decor combine the modern with the traditional. The brew coppers are visible from the basement drinking area. Food portion sizes were very fair for the price when I visited in September 2005.
| | beervana (32), Libertyville, Illinois | | May 19, 2009 I visited this place today at around 5 pm while at Novy Swiat. I was actually looking for Bierhalle but had no luck finding it. The selections were limited to a hefe weizen, a pils, a stout, and a crimson ale. The crimson ale looked intriguing but the brewery ran out. Nice place with upscale pub food. I had pierogies with my hefe weizen, stout and pils. The beers were decent though I wished they had an IPA on tap. Nice crowd of people but very smoky. Not sure I would come back to this joint unless smoking was banned. | | Nekronos (50), Xalapa, Mexico | | May 12, 2009 Good prices, a little high int he food, they give you samples of the beers. And the barman is friendly. A little empty the day I came in, but at least the olympics where on TV on that day. | | nate2g (151), Brisbane, Australia | | December 26, 2008 Visited August 08. Didnt mind this place was pretty quiet when I was there. The beers were tasty and a decent range. The food however was average. OK service. Definitely appears to be targeting the higher end of the market. | | FatPhil (121), Espoo, Finland | | December 17, 2007 [ Updated July 15, 2009 ] Slightly sterile environment. The beers seemed to be from a wide range of styles, and all pretty decent. Worth at least one visit. Fortunately the thre times I went there were no yuppies around, so pick your hour. | Wawrzyn (2), Otwock, Poland does not count - explanation | | November 29, 2006 really good beer, but atmosphere rather for yuppies. Maybe it’s just like that because there are no lots of places like this, so it looks like available rather for richer part of society. If you take character of Warsaw (polish financial center), You can find why it’s meeting place for some "managers", who left their office. |
