| kmweaver (67), Takoma Park, Maryland | | September 30, 2008 I’m kind of amazed that Mike’s the only one who’s rated this place in the last two years or so. Great stop on our way south from Wyoming. Excellent, huge subs and wraps and grilled sandwiches. New Belgium, Fort Collins, and other local Colorado rarities on tap, along with plenty of aged Belgians and sours and American craft brews. Highlights were the NB Erics Sour Peach and Abbey Grand Cru (which I’ve wanted to try for a long while). Great selection, really helpful and knowledgeable waitstaff, and just a cool place to stop by for a beer and a big, cheap meal. Highly recommended stop. | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | September 2, 2008 Hell yes. Awesome deli, awesome food, stellar draft list, solid bottle list. Can’t say enough, go here. No more Stille Nacht Reserva, not for a while, but they do have bottles of 2000 Stille Nacht ($20). A couple of new New Belgium small batches on tap as well, Giddy Up, Old Cherry and Eric’s Sour. | | Walt (184), Chicago, Illinois | | October 31, 2006 Did not get a chance to have any food here, but I definately had some crazy beers...Stille Nacht Reservas, Special Brousels, and the list goes on... | | Humulone_Red (18), Vancouver, Washington | | August 15, 2006 This place is great! What a concept - a deli/meat market combo with great beer on tap and in bottles. Went there with some friends after the NB tour (my friend Chris at NB suggested this place - thanks Chris!) The buffalo Ruben is amazing. I want to go there again next time I’m in Fort Collins. | | fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | August 14, 2006 Had a very nice sammitch and tawk wit frenz after having been rolled through the NB tour. Twas either tour guide or fellow Austinite the steered us to this place. Really need to head back some time when I have a few less beers under my belt (or when I’m not driving). At least I was able to sample sips of my friends beers along with mine and had some food to soak things up and time to talk and relax. Cool place and sounds like it’s doing well. | | Aubrey (65), Denver, Colorado | | July 8, 2006 Finally made it to this place ... cozy, wholesome and comfortable atmosphere. Loved the historic ceiling. Very friendly, cheery and attentive staff. Incredibly tasty sandwiches. I had the reuben with corned buffalo, fresh sauerkraut and homemade 1,000 Island ... and the wife had a really flavorful roasted chicken ... awesome stuff. Surprising beer selection, too, as others have already elaborated on. I wasn’t planning on drinking while there, but I couldn’t resist when I saw the Fort Collins IPA on tap. | luckygirl (6), Longmont, Colorado does not count | | June 25, 2006 Went with BeerandBlues2, his lovely wife, and that guy Ernest. I can only second what they’ve written. It was a nice joint; all of the food was real-food, and craft-made focused and the beer experience was pure bliss. One of those places where you walk in to see what they have and your head starts spinning and your ability to know where to start flies out the door. Had my best beer day every here, thanks to the treasures in their cellar, the geniune and friendly proprieters and the company of good friends. Spread the word and investigate their monthly beer dinners on their website—it sounds like fun! | | Ernest (103), Boulder, Colorado | | June 25, 2006 Awesome staff, small to medium size list of high quality brews (some vintage ones too) that in some cases are nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Huge thanks to Doug Corson for chatting/sitting with us and most importantly supplying this place with a few bottles of 2000 Stille Nacht Reserva and Speciaal Brouwsel...both were in fantastic shape. Also big props to Derek Kennedy for being way too accomodating (we turned down a 2002 La Folie we were so overwhelmed!). Awesome experience. | | BeerandBlues2 (139), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | June 24, 2006 First, I have to give full points for selection just because they had De Dolle Special Brouwsel and De Dolle Still Nacht Reserva 2000! And, Ernest, luckygirl and my wife shared these two on a fine Saturday afternoon with Doug (local wine guru) and one of the co-owners of the place. The food is excellent and prepared fresh for you. They offer a wide selection of high quality meats and a slightly smaller selection of cheese. The seating is limited but it seems that most patrons have it to-go. This is a must see on any trip to Ft. Collins. It can get a tad noisy during peak business. | roto_guru (6), Fort Collins, Colorado does not count | | May 6, 2006 [ Updated July 14, 2006 ] Beaver introduced me to this place upon my return to CO and I’m very happy he did! I have been 4 times as of this review.
As far as justifying the ratings given... ambiance is good, clean, open, but small 6-8 tables; service is friendly and helpful tho a tad slow at initially noticing you’ve arrived; Selection, while limited to a fairly small selection of beers is bettered by the fact they will usually have the new limited local releases early and excellent quality choices; Food is excellent deli sandwich faire (hint, buy a whole which includes a soft drink and get a discount on your beer instead.. of course a whole is pretty big!).
Update: I stopped by here on a late afternoon (can’t remember the day) and was shocked to discover that they were closed! There was a sign on the door indicating winter hours (to which they would have been closed); it was Late June! The hours shown on this page should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, I didn’t change my rating as this place is very good, I’m just sad that I was unable to enjoy them that day. | View Page : 1 2
