5 reviews for Chuck’s Wine and Spirits
| BEER4MEPLEASE (10), , | | November 15, 2009 THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST PLACE IN BOWLING GREEN, BUT THE LAST FEW TIMES THAT I STOPPED IN I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PRICES AND SELECTION. THE SHELVES WERE FULL OF HOLES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE KY BOURBON B STOUT CAME IN. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE PHONE NEVER RANG. SORRY TO SAY BUT THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS FIRST. LOST ME FELLAS! | Brianito (2), Tennessee does not count - explanation | | June 24, 2009 Good sized store with an impressive selection of wine, spirits and, of course, beer. I had no idea where to go for thje beer initially so I headed towards the back where I could see cooler doors.
Whoa. St. Bernardus, Maredsous, Duvel, Great Divide, Founders, Great Lakes, Bell’s...door after door. I have to admit I was impressed but hoped there was an aisle as well.
Um, yeah there was an aisle. It must have taken me 10 minutes on my first pass as I took in all the beer. I immediately walked to the front of the store and requested a cart!
The lower ABV selection is not as extensive as the higher ABV but they have pretty much anything you could want, including whatever shitty beer you might need to pick up for your grandpa. The wine and beer specialist, Blake, is also there to help out with some goodies from the treasure chest.
Highly recommended. | | ManvsCity (19), Redmond, Washington | | June 20, 2009 On a seven day work trip to the beer wasteland of Nashville, I was fortunate to find Chuck’s, only an hour’s drive away across the border. I like how you can see the "LIQUOR" sign from I-65 as you approach exit 22. I was also fortunate to get guidance from Blake, their beer specialist, and fellow Dark Lord Day attendee. The selection of beers not available in my home Seattle area was top notch. Blake even dove into the cooler to find me some Founders, Schlafley, and Troegs rarities. The store also has an impressive selection of bourbon and other whiskey. And, one of their other BG stores does growler fills. If you’re visiting Nashville, or live there, this place is an oasis in the desert. I have heard, though, that Tennessee tax law can get you thrown in jail for bringing beer across the border. | | nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 3, 2009 This is by far the best beer store in bowling green, and a must visit for anyone in Nashville seeking a different selection of micros. Their beer selection just keeps getting better and better. Most Bells offerings, Great Lakes, some Goose Island. The owner is really making an effort to bring in the hard to find stuff. Last visit had some Cantillon, Mikkeller and a Nogne-O Dark Horizon (which I bought the only one of). I keep going back to this place. Value is better than Nashville beer stores too. | | phishpond417 (51), Madison, Wisconsin | | October 18, 2008 This package store is located conveniently off I-65, and it has an enormous selection of everything. As incredibly huge it is, they utilize every bit of space given, and fill it up with something cool. They have a great beer selection from all over the place. Being from Wisc, when I stopped in to check out their mix and match- they didn’t have a whole lot of Kentucky beer in it. So I asked a gentleman, who appeared to be the manager and he immediately put together a six pack of beer for me from different KY breweries. As if that wasn’t enough, on our way out they had a barrel of some beer that they brew, and we sampled that. We also wanted to buy some plastic cups but they gave it to us for free. Excellent service from everyone there, and next time Im in the area, I am definately stopping by. |
