1/21/2007 9:54:25 PM, sunday, january 21, 2007 This store has a nice selection of local stuff and some decent imports. Beers are very well priced. This is also the only place I’ve seen Farnum Hill Ciders (granted, I didn’t look in many places). Very well-priced Unibroues. The real treat here though is the cheese section which is stocked with loads of NH and Vermont cheeses and a nice selection of imported cheeses as well. Cheese guy knows more about the cheese than anyone does about the beer, but that doesn’t really bother me. It helps that this place is only about 1000 ft from my friend’s place.

6/23/2005 12:39:46 AM, thursday, june 23, 2005 There are TWO Co-Op Food Stores, one in Lebannon and one in Hanover, but theyr’e only a couple of miles apart and have nearly identical selections as far as we beer geeks are concerned. Wine and cheese selections are really excellent, and they usually carry all of the artisanal Farnum Hill ciders from NH; but I found the beer selections lacking, really not even as good as most Vermont stores, with strong focus on local stuff but little of interest that’s not New England. Worth a stop in the area, but not a special trip, beerwise. Food rating primarily for the cheese selection.

This is a grocery store, primarily, and has a great selection of cheeses, fruits and veggies, organic stuff, and pre-made things. Also, a fairly extensive selection of wines. The beer selection is very nice, with a lot of New Hampshire/VT brews in addition to Ommegang, Unibroue, Sam Smiths, and others. Lots of 6-packs chilled, about 8-10 chilled varieties of bomber bottles, and they tend to always have the current Big Beer offering from Smuttynose, which I really enjoy. Staff is helpful, but not terribly knowledgeable. Reasonable prices, especially on random 12-packs of Smutty, Long Trail, Magic Hat, etc. Cases are stored in the back, but you can always find someone to go get one for you. Great place to pick up a picnic lunch or some beer for a hike. Worth a stop if you’re traveling on I-91 through NH/VT.
