| boFNjackson (57), Portland, Oregon | | November 4, 2009 What a great place. Traditional Irish pub, and well done, not like the "Irish Pub" places that jocks hang out at. Loads of nitro stouts on. What’s best is the Russian River. I believe the owner is the wife of the gentleman who does their distribution. General PtY and Damnation are on tap. and with 20oz pours you can’t go wrong. Food is good, lots of fried stuff and plates like Ploughman’s Lunch. Staff is always friendly, even during the busiest of time. | | troopie (40), | | February 15, 2009 Comfy neighbourhood pub with very good food. Doesn’t go the cinematic leprechaun and shamrock route, but the local gathering place. Live music. Much less expensive than Kells, and their barman knows how to build a pint of Guinness. Friendly and attentive service. | | beerinmarch (118), Washington | | November 9, 2004 batkins showed me this place in northeast portland, quite a fun place. The night we were there this guy was rockin out on a fiddle and playing some irish and classical tunes. A great brew selection with some unique special releases. Food was really good and the overall pub atmosphere was good. A few too many children in the place, which turned out to be a problem cause i was watching the redsox play the yankees and had to keep apologizing for my F-words. | | batkins (78), Vancouver, Washington | | September 19, 2004 The County Cork is a small traditional Irish style pub. They have 23 taps that rotate a great selection of micro’s, with a tendency toward local beers. There are also 2 casks and a nitro tap. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food includes some traditional Irish fare, as well as a great fish and chips. Live music on Tues. & Thurs., usually acoustic and/or Irish. NO SMOKING. Children are always welcome there. While it doesn’t fall into the same catagory as the Horsebrass, this is a great little place to stop in for a beer or two. |
