UPDATE--Revisited January 2007. Still a wonderful place to go. This was my first visit to New Orleans since Katrina, and I was very happy that the Crown and Anchor remains the standard by which other pubs should be judged. The only drawback was that the last ferry was at 8:30 pm, but full service was supposed to be restored at some point in the near future. A true English Pub, located in charning Algiers Point, a free ferry ride from the base of Canal Street in New Orleans. The staff and the regulars at the Crown and Anchor are some of the finest people you could hope to meet. The ales are fresh, the company great, and Thursday is Quiz Night! What more could one ask for?
