Cumberland has the best Pale Ale in town. The selection is large enough because all of the beers are of exceptional quality. Food is outstanding and flavorful.

If you find a better bison burger in the Highlands, please let me know. Cumberland does not have a great number of craft beers available, but every single one is more than worth drinking.

Ambiance and service are great. The selection is okay (really good when you consider how small they are), and the Celtic Stout I tried was excellent. Only had a cup of soup, so I won’t try and rate the food, but it was a little on the pricy side.

Was so glad to find this place in the little directory from the hotel. they had a surprisingly large selection (all their own) given the size of the place. A bit of a hippy vibe going on (widespread panic & grateful dead posters galore) but it was a great time. service was great and the fried green tomatoes were awesome once they cooled down a bit. And the beers were really tasty.

Me and my girlfriend wanted to get away from Downtown Louisville and found this hole in the wall brewery. Smallest brewing kit I’ve seen in a bar but they did some very nice things. We only had nachos and the fried green tomatoes and sampled some beers. Was a very cool little place, a little on the hippy side, but still rockin’. Had about 10 beers or so on tap, which was impressive for the size of the brewery. Nothing over the top, but a very nice bunch of beers and excellent service.

Great buffalo burgers. I prefer the milk stout brew. It’s always pretty busy, so parking and seats are always at a premium. Friendly staff and good service.

Decent bar in a nice part of town. Purchased a sampler – most of the beers had a lot more character and flavor than the BBC sampler beers I had with dinner. Bartender was friendly, even gave us a free sampler glass of a beer that had just run out. The mens bathroom was interesting with an old beer can collection. I didn’t eat food but it looked pretty good while passing by me. I went here on a whim after going to BBC, glad I did.

I respect this place and visit often. Small brewery that isn’t super interesting but provides great beer. Nice cozy bar atmosphere with a consistently nice crowd in a nice area of town. They have mostly consistent beers on tap but will occasionally hook up a temporary brew. I love the nitro porter here and always start off (and usually end) the night with one. It is a simple, very descent brewpub. Check it out.

Came to me with a bad recommendation from a friend, but I decided to try it out anyways. Pros: Really tasty beers for such a small operation, great food, located in a fun part of town. Cons: Small space, wait, parking, traffic, etc. All in all, a must see in Louisville, in my opinion. Great food and surprisingly good beers. Grab a sampler, then decide on your poison.

Well appointed brewpub on a bustling street south of the center of the city. It’s a small place with a very hip feel. The bartenders were very nice and fairly knowledgeable about the beer. The beer itself was surprisingly good. I had expected less given the small size of the operation. They had 7 on tap the day I visited and they offer a sampler of 5 for $4.25. You can also buy by the pint or half pint and they have growlers. The food was good. I nearly skipped this place, but I’m glad I didn’t.
