| carruthm (26), Seattle, Washington | | December 11, 2009 Great little place at a populated beer stretch of 99. | | CheersMate1 (34), Atlanta, Georgia | | August 15, 2009 Just down from Uber. Had a crazy night at Uber and ended up at Duck Island; don’t ask how I got there. Let’s just say it all started with the "toss of a disk". Anyways, the bar are is fairly cramped. They have pool tables, and a lot of taps hanging from the ceiling. The "manager", who was some hot woman I wanted to ask out, came outside saw my friends and I drinking and nearly had a heart attack. The point is we had her as our server inside as well, and she had an attitiude, but I love a woman with a temper. She still gave great service. Met the owner he was very nice. The bar area was a bit cramped, but the selection, again, was pretty good. The bottle selection was also great. Not the typical bar from what I have experienced since being in Seattle, but still a decent place, if you don’t want to go to Uber. | | after4ever (126), Brier, Washington | | September 15, 2008 Been driving and even walking by this place for years now pretty silly that I haven’t stopped in before this weekend. Thanks to BVC for motivating the stop. Great divey little spot with a couple dozen good taps. No bottles, but they have some well-chosen liquors up on the shelves. Friendly service the manager, Jeremiah, was hanging out even when he wasn’t on, which speaks well for how little the place gets on the staff’s nerves, which in turn makes for a nice place for the crowd. Has a funky layout with narrow passages and steps up and down good little drunk traps. Couple of pinball machines and such. You could easily spend some time here, and the tap list evidently always has something on that’s hard to get elsewhere, along with several things that are just plain good to drink. I’ll definitely be back. | | ajm (163), Los Angeles, California | | July 3, 2008 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] You thought the Uber Tavern was a little seedy? This place fills up with bikers, leather-goths and crazy ex-football players around last call on a Saturday. But when I was there they had Double Dead Guy and Abyss on tap, and the barkeep sold me a bottle of Full Sail Top Sail right over the counter, brown paper bag style. | | BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | May 8, 2008 [ Updated September 15, 2008 ] Great little pub located in a hole in the wall area. Beer Mecca is pretty much all around this area. If your hungry skip the 10 dollar stuff they have from the microwave and eat next store at Beth’s Café this place Rocks. The beers at Duck Island are some of the best. They have Belgian’s, lights, darks, ales and lagers you want it they have it. I bet they have served what ever you have had they have a tap collection that rivals anyone’s. This is a must stop if ever in Seattle. This place it tight the seating is about 30-40 total so it can and will be crowded on the big nights. The service knows the crowd they get the beer to you in no time flat. | | Beershine (268), Traipsing Around, Cambodia | | January 15, 2008 One of the funkiest beer oases in Seattle. Superb divey ambiance with artful beer-centric decor. Good tap selection. A good one to combine with Uber, which is one block away. The greasy spoon next door will deliver food to you and their menu is in Duck Island. That food is nasty but filled with enough grease and salt to prevent a hangover. | | Brigadier (81), Chagrin Falls, Ohio | | January 14, 2008 I stopped here after Ubers. In hindsight I would have reversed them. The place was not that busy yet still loud due to the music cranking from the jukebox or stereo.
The tap list convined me to stay however. There were some gems available including a kriek lambic which I’ve not seen many other places. I didn’t try the food but I understand you can order from next door.
This will be a stop on my next visit but earlier in the evening before continuing on down the road. | | riversideAK (12), Shoreline, Washington | | January 2, 2008 Went over here after Uber closed. Interesting place. Looks like a dive bar. Has a ton of good beer on tap. The service was pleasant. Lots of tap handles hanging from the ceiling makes for a cool decoration. When I move back to Seattle, I am going to come here quite a bit. | | CapFlu (179), Victoria, British Columbia | | November 10, 2007 And...... the Award for the Biggest Asshole behind the Bar goes to... some young dork named Jedediah at Duck Island Saloon. Other than the barkeep doing anything possible to impress the gals at the bar, the place is pretty good. Nice ambiance, lots of taps and neat use of the ceiling for spend taps. The jukebox was pretty good as well. | | Feinschmecker (52), Seattle, Washington | | September 5, 2007 If you visit Seattle, then check it out. The selection great. They got a pool table and jukebox with a great selection of tunes. |
