| BiddleBrau (33), Midland Park, New Jersey | | August 19, 2009 After a long, long day on the trail, it was nice to stumble upon this pub in the middle of nowhere. Beers were average and the building very cozy and dark. When I asked to see their equipment, the daughter was more than happy to show me. Apparently the mom was the brewer who learned from a foreign traveler who lived there years before (or something like that). The equipment looked like old pool filters but it did the job. You just can’t expect too much from a place so out of the ordinary. | | Linc (15), Sydney, Australia | | July 30, 2005 Situated in a small town in the middle of nowhere, a mecca for climbers and adventurers and the occasional weak ’packer like me. After walking 45 degrees into the wind just to get here you may as well taste the beer, even though there are only 2 available and they’re not too special, I guess you’d call them, ahem, interesting. Nice building though, cosy and warm, friendly staff, great place to wind down after a day or a week of hiking etc. |
