This is by far one of the best beer stores I have ever visited. Quaint and unassuming on the outside, this place is bursting with rare and hard to find beers on the inside. Lots of local and regional favorites along with an outstanding selection from around the country and around the world. I would find it difficult to control my spending if I lived closeby as there is just so much beer I wanted to try. Thankfully, I was limited to what I could drink before I traveled and then what would fit in my suitcase. This is another must stop if you are in a 100 mile radius. You wont be disappointed.

I’ve been to this place quite a few times and finally decided to rate it. This place was a must stop for me when I visited Athens the past few years. In just the three years that I shopped here, the selection got better and better. Each time I visited I typically spent a good bit of time and money, but always worthwhile. Service is awesome, Sachin and the crew were always willing to help. I can’t say enough about the folks who work here. They love beer and were always helping beer geeks like me and regular folks who were just there to try something new. Selection is great, last time I was there they were adding Founders to their selection and had a complete 4 or 5 shelf section dedicated to their Mikkeller selection. There were many Belgians, English, German, and a ton of American crafts. If you are ever in the Atlanta area or driving on I-85 in that area, it is well worth the stop.

I have found the perfect bottle shop - too bad I do not live in Athens! Literally at least a thousand beers to choose from - all categorized nicely - even has a section for sours. One of those stores where you are overwhelmed at the selections and you have to determine your priorities - low price tickers, high quality, missing selections from a favorite brewer? All can be accommodated here. Good selection of locals as well - which they had a few miscellaneous singles of local stuff from Georgia and the Carolinas - most were in six packs - but I had enough bombers to keep me satisfied. Bonus - if you buy more than six craft or imports (like that is a stretch for me) you get a discount and a free glass - what a deal! Will be a regular stop any time I am in Athens - which unfortunately is not too often

Took a little road trip today. I actually was there and back (from Midtown Atlanta) in less than 3 hours! To me, that is not a bad drive at all. They had a lot of good stuff that we can’t get in Atlanta. I don’t understand the disparity between Athens and Atlanta in terms of beer availability. I was worried at first because I thought the wine selection was going to overshadow the beer selection, but that was not the case. If you are in Atlanta and have an afternoon to spare, head to Five Points. The staff was friendly, and gave me 10% off for spending what I spent. Great beer store, and I can’t wait to head back sometime soon.

Wow. I agree with sebletitje, it is easy to drop a few hundred bucks in here. They had every Terrapin beer that’s out at a VERY reasonable price. Some very rare beers, and out of production beers that are priced affordably. Duck Rabbitt, Mikkeller, Olfaabrikken, Victory, Left Hand, everything that I have seen here was pretty impressive.

Great place. Was very hard to stop buying all these beers to take back to FL. Huge selection of East coast beers, even a lot of good European beers. Many that cannot be found in FL. Prices are more than fair for the kind of beers that you get. Sadly, they wont split 6pack, and I left the place with many beers I could not buy. All the 6pack, 4pack quickly add up, and one can easily spend a few hundred dollars.

Great stuff here. Six different Mikkeller including the ratebeer Struise masters series. Bunch of Terrapin. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Good regional selection. Worth the trip for sure.

Fantastic selection, very helpful staff. I’m so used to walking into a beer store and having to hunt for something I’ve never had. Everywhere I looked, though, I saw something I wanted. Could’ve easily dropped thousands of dollars on beer here. Great place.

Very good selection of beer, wine, and liquour. Fair prices and a very helpful staff. Best shop in north Georgia, with plenty of rare stuff. They get everything (and often more) that Greens gets. Great place. *** This is now the best in Georgia. Selection has continued to improve, and service is 2nd to none. Great place!

Absolutely terrific beer store, the best in NE Georgia in my opinion. The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgable. These guys have a passion for their beer and their beer selection and it shows. As to the comment made by NachlamSie on the organization: This store is extremely small, with other stores in town being anywhere from 2 up to 5 times the Bottle Shop’s size, yet the Bottle Shop has an inventory 4 times bigger than their biggest competitor. If you can’t appreciate how difficult it is to get all of that on the floor, don’t bash the store’s organization. They do all they can to make sure every single beer in Georgia is available to their customers, so yes, it’s very hard to get all that organized in such a limited space.
