The Saucer’s a very fun place to drink. They’ve got pretty much everything available in town and almost always get the new beers right when they show up. Casks show up occasionally, which is nice, and every now and then they’ll Randall a beer. If you’re there, ask for Sam, one of the managers - he’s a stand-up guy and knows his beer. It’s hard to choose between this and the Draughthouse for a favorite Austin beer joint.

Nice outdoorsy patio, nice selection and decently priced.

Great selection, but it can get quite busy at different times depending on the day. Thats not really a complaint though. Food is great, and the place is clean. Couches are a plus, even though there might be a few too many. The patio is the place for me, plenty of room (unless its friday happy hour). The UFO club is fun to help keep track of what I have tried, and help me keep on top of what is new. Check it out.

My favorite bar in Austin. Expect a crowd (unless you come in the afternoon), but once you get a table the service is usually very attentive. Servers come and go, so if yours isn’t a beerologist just ask one of the bartenders. There are good deals most nights listed on the fire-sale blackboard. The food is good but, just like the beer, should be switched up every once in a while.

I’ve been to several Flying Saucers and they are all worth the trip, but the Austin location was just not as unique as the others I have been to. As usual they had a great selection and atmosphere, but the shopping plaza location and "pre-packaged" feel of the inside took away from what sets the other Flying Saucers saucer locations apart from other beer bars. Austin is a great town for beer and if you have never been to a Flying Saucer bar, definately stop in; they always have an excellent selection and the atmosphere is still great.

- Parking not bad -- it was a Monday, though. - Comprehensive, well organized beer menu. - Waitress was clueless about the beers ( but cute). Woe to the casual beermonger that needs help in making a decision on what to drink. - They should post the % ABV on the menu. They had Avery Mephistopheles as a guest beer (16%!!) Somebody should know that before buying. - My friends LOVED the UFO club. They were intent on drinking the 200 beers to get their saucer on the wall and the free T shirt. - The bratwurst was disappointing. Poorly warmed bratwurst , kinda greasy. Covered up by lots of kraut and mustard. Roll was nice, though. - Bratwurst and Abt 12 is not a good pairing. - I guess they’ll have outside seating when it warms up. - I had a Brackenridge 471, Abt 12, Franziskaner Hefeweizen, and Racer 5. Only the Abt 12 had 1 finger of foam the others had absolutely no head. - They really need to increase the CO2 pressure on their gas. All the beers are stadium pours

The newest addition to the Flying Saucer chain, and has a "new" feel to it. I recognized a few staff members from their days at the San Antonio Saucer, and I was told that the GM from San Antonio is now in charge of Austin. They had a great selection - sure some of the stuff is available at a few places in Austin... but that’s the way the bar business works - it’s not like they can get something that isn’t available. It is a bit loud and pulls in a yuppie crowd, but who said a beer bar can’t be for the young crowd too (since I’m a bit of a yuppie myself, don’t mean I don’t enjoy a good beer). My only complaint is about the food. It’s the same menu as all the Saucers, which is good until you have decided you are tired of all the Saucer’s food!

Really unimpressive. A bar for yuppies and college kids with popped collars to pretend that they have good taste because they drink overpriced pints of imported beer. Staff has little to no beer knowledge. Huge selection of beers, but nothing that can’t be acquired elsewhere.

Although they have over 200 beers available - none of them are too spectacular. A bit loud and crowded on a Wednesday night but overall not horrible by any means. Turkey burger is yummy and the servers were nice. Since it has newly opened, I am sure that some of the kinks will get worked out over time. A bit yuppy but not a horrible place to go and hang out. Also, if you join their UFO Club and drink 150 of their beers - you get a frisbee.

Was told upon sitting down that they had 230 beers available between taps and bottles. Very good selection, but nothing too unique to the area. Food was actually surprisingly good and what we had was better than your typical bar grub. (Chicken Quesadillas and a Turkey Burger.) Basically this is a beer bar that doesn’t doesn’t have the feel of one. Waitresses were nice enough in their schoolgirl outfits, and somewhat knowledgable, but this isn’t exactly where beer nerds go to hang out. More of a younger, yuppie crowd, with fairly loud, popular music. Prices seemed reasonable to slightly expensive. Has a very new, clean feel about it, more so than a comfortable old standby pub where you’ll run into people you know. Good selection overall, but not as casual and relaxed of an atmosphere as I like.
