Zuchinnicat (3), Tijeras, New Mexico does not count - explanation | | November 21, 2009 Went here on a Friday night at 9:00, the place was packed. Food came really fast and was very tasty. Beers were pedestrian and tasted of dirty tap lines. Hop Knot IPA should have been called Hop NOT. Cask offering (English PA) was sweet and turbid. I was happy they were playing the Phish halloween set on the sound system since I have not heard it since the show. Overall this is a cool place for the college partiy crowd but not very exciting for the beer geek. | | WITTBEER (21), Illinois | | October 6, 2009 My favorite place to go when I’m in the Phoenix area. Good happy hour specials and good food. Great beer! | | phaleslu (93), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 17, 2009 A friend took me here while visitng Phoenix. Impressive local brewer with beers way better than I expected. Good food, but not spectacular. Very large space, probably to accommodate some of the ASU crowd (we were there during winter break). If college kids are coming to a place that makes quality beer like this, I’m all for it. Parking was hard to come by. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area. | | rustychiles (11), Mesa, Arizona | | July 7, 2009 What can I say, four peaks is a great local brewer with a lot of solid beers as well as a excellent (Above average) food menu.
Their regular lineup includes RAJ IPA, Hop Knot, Oatmeal Stout (My favorite regulars) along with a regular cask engine entry and they always have a seasonal. (SIrus Black Imperial Stout, Saison, Chocolate Porter, etc) and in addition they have a great barleywine that they tap a keg of the 1st of every month. (Hopsquatch). Oh yeah, they also have their scotch ale kiltlifter which is probably their most infamous beer and a bunch of other brews in styles that I don’t care for but your girlfriend or macro buddies will enjoy.
The food at four peaks is fantastic. The burgers are top notch, the fries are to die for. (Or because of). Try the turkey club on their multigrain bread with the caesar salad it’s delicious. And if you are lucky enough to be there when they make it (around once a month) they serve up the best beer cheese soup i’ve ever had.
They do get a bit crowded on weekends from dinner time until fairly late when school is in so be ready to wait if the local college school year has begun and you go during prime time; however they do have a modern restaraunt paging system and do the best they can to get you in and out.
| KenStage (3), Ohio does not count - explanation | | July 5, 2009 I visit Tempe on business, and this has become one of my favs. Hard to find parking, usually crowded with college age folks, but the service is still fast.
Hop Knot IPA is good, works with spicy foods. Raj IPA also good, but I prefer the Hop Knot. Kiltlifter Scotch Ale nice for a smoother beer. | | hollypocket (10), Arizona | | July 1, 2009 We go here all the time for the sun bru, artichoke dip, & oatmeal stout. one of tempe favorites! | Avengedpoet (6), Mesa, Arizona does not count - explanation | | March 21, 2009 My local pub. Ambiance is pretty neat, as it is in an old brick milk manufacturing warehouse. Don’t go here with more than one person if you plan on talking to them. It gets pretty damn noisy. Service is generally quite good. I go here all the time and have only ever had a problem a couple of times. I think the selection is quite good, as they offer a wide range of their own beers, as well as adventurous seasonals and cask ales. Instead of offering the stereotypical Oktoberfest, they do things like their recent Belgian Black Ale. The food here is amazing. After having visited over a dozen breweries, the selection and quality of food at Four Peaks is head and shoulders above the rest, although the prices continue to climb and climb. Parking sucks. There is no doubt about that, and it could stand to be improved. Luckily, the people in the neighborhood south of the bar are fairly understanding about people parking in front of their houses and I have never had a problem with them. They bottle three beers (one | gator2683 (7), Anchorage, Alaska does not count - explanation | | December 31, 2008 Great food and moderate selection of beers Very few big beers but the winter wobler was tasty | | SuperDave70 (14), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona | | December 1, 2008 Cool location. Open and airy warehouse feel with a large bar, plenty of tables inside and out, and giant stainless steel tanks in the back. The few times I have visited service has always been very quick, even on ASU game days when the place is packed. Parking is on the street and can get a bit obnoxious during busy times. Way above average bar food. A good assortment of house brewed beers. Can get a bit noisy, but overall a great place for food and brews. | | bhensonb (291), Woodland, California | | October 15, 2008 Parking sucks, but all else is grand. Sit at the bar and contemplate an endless array of large stainless steel tanks. They had 4 people on the bar. My food was fast and excellent. They have a cask ale on. Rarely does it get better than this. |
