RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
Green’s has a large selection similiar to Jax in Sandy Springs but the locations may be more accessible depending where in Atlanta you are. The place is a bit cleaner than Jax where even the new bottles seem to have a layer of dust on them. You’ll be able to find all the local stuff here, plus a large selection imports and micros, but, like the rest of Atlanta liquor stores, they seem to focus more on the imports and less on the micros. One location is at 737 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE and the other is at 2612 Buford HWY NE. Green’s website has a link to Ratebeer.com. Check ’em out!

nearbeer | As previously stated, this is a must-stop if in the area. Traffic was a pain getting in and out but may have just been the time of day.

BBB63 | Very good selection and plenty of parking. Worth a stop to fill your cellar.

Cybercat | This package store has an exceptional selection of beers. In fact, it is the first place outside of North Carolina that I have seen Duck-Rabbit. They have a formidable variety of single-bottle beers, and lots of different six-packs. They devote more space to imports and craft brews than to megabrews.
The sales people are very helpful. When my cashier was having a problem, a manager was quick to come rectify it. They packaged my purchase quickly, and were very friendly but not overly familiar. Just about the only drawback of this store is its location - right around a curve on Buford Highway, and with one rather steep entrance, so getting in and out can be a pain in the patooty. However, if you love good beer, it is worth the trouble.

colemgm8 | one of the best beer stores in ATL... they carry many wonderful beers from the US and abroad... A solid Belgian selection... usually will be the first store in ATL to get beer when it comes to GA. Cheaper prices for using cash or debit.

unclemattie | I prefer this location more than the Ponce. The selection is sometimes a little different. Maybe its the part of town, maybe its just closer to home.

MartinT | This store had a great selection of imported brews when I visited (lots of Scandinavian and Belgian goodies, for example), but was very disappointing on the local/American side of things. On top of that, you cannot break 6-packs, so that made it even harder to try and sample local wares. Apart from Sweetwater and a few Terrapins, there weren’t any Georgian beers to buy, and very few from nearby North Carolina. I guess local distribution hasn’t been organized much yet. Still, I’d come back here for the imports and quality near-national micros such as Victory and Great Divide, were I to be in the area.

maltdog | Having lived in Knoxville for 5 years (where Chimay is exotic, and finding red and blue at the same store is nearly unheard of), I would rename Green’s "wall of beer" to "shrine of yeast and barley." The wall of worship is far bigger than the website’s photo, and spills over into the adjacent wine section. Good selection of higher abv Belgian and other European and UK ales, plus local/regional and West coast high gravity offerings. Some of the best prices I’ve seen, too. Smallish yet diverse macro and micro area, higher quality selection than many other stores. Staff is everywhere, and two employees offered to help us (we were wine shopping as well). Store is well lit and spotless. Aisles are a little tight, but no more so than any other liquor store. Points for not having any flashy, space-wasting displays of yuppie "value" wines or trendy flavored vodkas. Probably the most spacious and navigable parking lot I’ve seen at any liquor store, period... and much easier to enter/exit than the Ponce location.

performula | Great selection, probably the best in the Buckhead/Lenox Park area. Micros, Macros, Specials, etc.. Service was helpful at finding things but not knowledgeable on product. This place has a great feature under beer selections - their rating!

jrob_21 | Sometimes a slightly different selection than the Ponce location. Ponce will often have beers for longer since all the shoppers from up north hit up this location first. Still one of the best selections I have ever seen in terms of quantity. The quality is the best in Atlanta as well.

CheersMate1 | Downtown Atlanta. Great selection, but lacks space. This store is the definition of crowded. The selection is great and I appreciate it being around. Whoever rated this poorly doesn’t understand that Atlanta has an overall poor selection of beer.
