great little bar. 4 casks, comfortable seating. Imagine it would be hard to find if we didnt have our tourguide. Neat bar

Small place on a nice location. Friendly service but quite poor selection, 2 or 3 Caledonian beers on tap. Not too many people inside, I sat just to drink my pint and went further.

Very small pub on one of Edinburgh’s steep stairways. Very cozy, but it is very small. 4 casks, including the new Youngs and Brewdog beers. Very friendly service. And they know quite a lot about their beers.

Pub is reportedly unchanged since my last visit. Little gem and one of Edinburgh’s delightful little secrets - yet in close proximity to Waverley station. The four cask ales change regularly and staff are very friendly and authoritative on beer. Well worth a visit.

Squeeze in folks! Tiny one roomed bar up the steps from Waverley rail station. Regular themed beer weeks/fortnights, but cracking quality whatever’s on. Reminiscent of an old railway messroom, with all the memorabilia adorning the walls and window sills. Not to be missed.

A friendly and cosy little alehouse with four hand pumps. Should not be missed. Located in a narrow alley climbing from the railway station towards the Royal Mile (visited 12.11.2008).

A very small, cozy place where it can be hard to get a seat. Not a lot of variety, but all good stuff and they seem to rotate the guest beers frequently. The beer is in top condition. Any drinking tour of Edinburgh should stop here.

Very conveniently located very close to the trainstation .A small place, but also with a small outside seating area. We visited at lunchtime, the food was tasty, but the whole pub had the odours from the kitchen, which I could have been without. 4 beers on cask, 5 on draft, and besides that some bottles. Most of the beers where well known to me, but I got two Broughton beers on cask.

Small but very nice, cosy and genuine pub. The cask ales were in excellent condition and the food was good. I had Harvistoun Bitter and Twisted, Cairngorm Nessie´s Monster Mash and sausages and mash. One of my favorite pubs from the trip to Edinburgh.

I liked this place quite alot. First stop on the Edinburgh day for RBESG 2007. Quite small but very charming pub. Nice selection on beers and the food was ok.
