21 reviews for Historic Casanova Liquors
| troyc (72), Lubbock, Texas | | November 2, 2009 Stopped in here on a road trip up to MN. Selection was decent and all of the bottles were very well organized and most were available in singles. I didn’t see anything I would consider ’rare’ for the Wisconsin area. Prices were a little high, but not too bad. I would visit again if I were in the area. | | tennisjoel (29), Shakopee, Minnesota | | June 20, 2009 A pretty small store, but the selection is slightly above Chicones (the other good liquor store in Hudson). The service was good, not much to complain about. Prices were on par with what was expected. | | kosko20 (10), Bemidji, Minnesota | | April 15, 2009 Always a must stop for me when I’m in the cities as MN doesn’t carry New Glarus, Founders or Stone. Just a fantastic selection of those breweries along with a ton of others like Dogfish Head...and stuff I can’t think of now. The service is iffy, sometimes its good and sometimes I’m completely ignored. Also kind of a strange set up but can’t beat this selection of brews in WI near the cities. | | WisconsinBeer (10), St Paul, Minnesota | | February 8, 2009 Awesome. This place is a MUST stop if you’re traveling past Hudson on I-94. Just a mile or so off of I-94, not hard to get to. Just a laid back kind of place. The staff minds their own business, but is generally friendly. Selection is.....nothing short of amazing. Pretty much every awesome micro they carry is also available in singles, which makes it even cooler. At any given time, they will have a full selection of New Glarus, Oskar Blues, Bells, Founders, Dark Horse, Stone, Southern Tier, Two Brothers, pretty much all of the great beers you can find in this area except Surly in a one stop shop. If you’re in the area take 10 minutes to stop by, you won’t be disappointed! Every time the girlfriend and I go past Hudson we stop here, even though we only live 20 mins away! Open 7 days a week for your convenience. | stankenk (8), Maplewood, Minnesota does not count - explanation | | January 23, 2009 I was very pleased with the service last night. We ended up talking beer for quite a while. It’s always fun to going to a beer store and having conversations with knowledgeable people. Great beer selection including Stone, Founders, New Glarus, Dogfish Head, all the heavy hitters that you can’t get at MN bottle shops. I will definitely be back and is the best in Hudson. | bookman10 (8), Osseo, Minnesota does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2008 This is the place to go if you’re looking for small Wisconsin craft beers (like New Glarus) and you’re coming from the Twin Cities. Unlike Minnesota liquor stores, they’re open on Sunday. I was able to find pretty much everything I was looking for, and since I bought a case of different styles of New Glarus beer, I received a free New Glarus glass as an extra. The store is a bit dark and gloomy, since the building it’s in is an old one and part of it is devoted to a restaurant and wine bar (closed on Sundays). I wasn’t really able to gauge the level of service, since I knew what I was looking for and went right to it. Selection was good, with an extensive make-your-own-six pack area with a wide variety of single bottles. I was on a New Glarus expedition and was very happy with what I found, so can’t really speak to the selection beyond this (though I also found South Shore Brewery’s Nut Brown Ale from Ashland, WI). Prices might have been a bit high, but I was pleased overall with my experience. | | mnoutdoors (10), Allover, Wisconsin | | September 29, 2008 Was kind of hard to find someone to help...nice cooler selection of beers....Stone, Founders, New Glarus, DFH, all the heavy hitters that you can’t get at MN bottle shops. WIll definitely be back and is the best in Hudson. Hopefully they expand their singles. | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | September 22, 2008 Really nice selection of MN and regional singles, as well as all the relevant NG beers (just got in a shipment of Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart a few days before we got there). Also have stuff like Furthermore, Founders, Flat Earth, etc. Decent prices, good singles selection (most things are available as singles), and knowledgeable service, at least during our trip. | | mistersinalin (24), St. Paul, Minnesota | | August 19, 2008 I found this place due to this site. Thanks! When I cross the river for my New Glarus, I stop here and grab all of the brands that don’t make it across the river. The people there were very helpful, plus they threw in a New Glarus glass after purchasing a case. Great store...best in the area. | | badgerben (79), Blaine, Minnesota | | August 14, 2008 Been here many times, but had yet to enter a rating. For the Minnesotan, here’s your stop for DFH, Stone, New Glarus, Fort Collins, etc. About the same price as Chicone’s and more helpful service (at least in my experience). |
