i went here last winter while a bunch of friends went skiing. you can basically sit in the brewing room and, by now, you should be able to admire the certificate which the brewery was given by me on behalf of modry abbe on behalf of ratebeer, for having the highest scores at the rbesg08 blind tasting

Stopped here on our trip to Plzen (RBESG2008). Few km from German-Czech border on top of the hill. Hotel is situated at the beginning of ski lifts. Selection of three good beers. Everything else Doggythedog already wrote.

A hotel containing what seems to be a restaurant and a brewery in one of the remotest and highest parts of Železná Ruda (a lovely spot, surrounded by nature), reachable by a road that’s... let’s just say that you don’t want another car coming from the opposite direction. Doesn’t seem to get much traffic in late June, but there were people around. We sat on the little patio, close to the pool, but the inside seems nice too... wooden, nice and I can imagine that the ambiance being fine when it gets filled up. It’s more of a hotel than a brewpub though, but the beers are readily available (you can take them away in bottles too) and the menu seems good enough, even if we didn’t order anything. The service is ok, but English won’t get you places (German will I reckon)... good thing that the Slavic languages are so alike. Their beers are good enough, great after a long car ride. Wouldn’t go out of my way to get here but if you’re going from Germany to, say, Plzen through Železná Ruda, don’t miss it.
