| 502Flavors (37), Louisville, Kentucky | | October 21, 2009 Hit this place up with some friends and it was very cozy. It doubles as a home brew shop, which is nice. The employe’s were very chill and informative. You can get a FREE 7 beer sampler... and the employees said many people come in once a week or more for these and that the management doesn’t mind. Just a very friendly company on the end of the main Ithaca drag. No food and not too much as far as ambiance other than the generally laidback feel. They also had some awesome Ithaca Root Beer and Ginger Beer. Cool Spot. | socialistpete (8), Blasdell, New York does not count - explanation | | October 17, 2009 Cool little brewery that makes some good beers. The Apricot Wheat is great, and I don’t like fruit beers. | | Glouglouburp (214), Montreal, Quebec | | September 23, 2009 Parking friendly two minutes drive outside the city. Nice friendly little brewery with a large room that is both a gift shop and a tasting room. Like it is the case with all NY state brewery that have a tasting room (and not a full licensed pub) you cannot buy samples. They give you free samples of whatever they have on tap. When I was there they had close to 10 beers on tap for free sampling. Unfortunately very few of their higher end 750ml bottles seem to be available on tap. They don’t seem to keep “special” bottles behind the counter for visitors. What’s there to buy is what is currently sold. I was lucky to find the Brute there but only because I happened to be there while it was being distributed. The staff was particularly friendly. I bought many bottles, glasses and bottles openers. Affordable prices but not cheaper than a good deal at a beer store. Overall this is a pleasant tasting and buying experience and you just cannot be in the neighbourhood without paying this brewery a visit. | | beerbill (43), Laurel, New York | | September 6, 2009 We stopped by during a recent trip to the Finger Lakes. This is my third or fourth visit here and each trip has been enjoyable. They have a wide selection of their beers on tap and gladly provide samples and seem to genuinely enjoy talking beer. My wife and kids waited outside in the van while I was inside, and they even brought some soda samples out to my family! Nice touch! They have a decent selection of homebrew supplies as well. I ended up buying a growler, and a couple bottles each of the Brute and Eleven, as well as a mixed case of their root beer and ginger beer (their ginger beer is excellent by the way). Very convenient on Rt 13 and just down the road from Buttermilk Falls, definitely worth stopping by. | | arventresca (24), Greenville, North Carolina | | June 20, 2009 Cool little place off NY 13 near Buttermilk Falls. Had as many free samples as you could want. Service was good and home brew accessories were sold there. Plus the beer is pretty good. | | dmradus (13), State College, Pennsylvania | | June 6, 2009 Great place. Tremendous ambiance. They’ve been putting a lot of work into their tasting room and it shows. Knowledgeable employees, free samples of anything, good brewery tour. A very passionate crew. Extremely reasonable growler fills and mix-and-match sixers, all the Excelsior series 750’s, occasional brewery-only one-offs on the tap for growler fills (currently an unfiltered Flower Power). Les than a minute from two NY state parks (gorges, waterfalls, trails, picnic areas). Must visit when in Ithaca. | | CharlesDarwin (144), Point Judith, Rhode Island | | December 22, 2008 Stopped in here to get some Brute, only to discover that they were out. Friendly though is leading me to places that still might have it or the IPAbbey. Nice selection of homebrew materials and swag, otherwise. Bought a very nice tulip glass. Growler disponible. (113e rating d’établissement) | | hophead75 (83), Boonton, New Jersey | | September 10, 2007 Stopped here on my way to the Finger Lakes. Atmosphere was decent considering it is a micro-not a brewpub. the guy working offered good service, and knew the beers pretty well. free samples of anything on tap. Growler fills are a bargain- 6 bucks! All the beer is reasonably priced, and you can mix and match 6 or 12 packs. They also sell homebrew supplies/ingredients although their stock seems to be pretty meager. Their beers are all solid, so I would say this is definitely worth stopping at if you are in the area, or need to drive alittle bit out of your way. | | TomDecapolis (69), Skippack, Pennsylvania | | August 5, 2007 Free samples and growler fills. They also let you mix and match a six pack, 12 pack or even just one or two singles. I did not catch the tour but the staff seemed very friendly and the samples were free and plenty. They also sell some home brew supplies so if you are in the area and need some home brew supplies stop in. Also make sure ou pick up Old Habit if they hvae 750’s of it...good stuff. |
