The truly horible service negated the great selection and stellar view of this place.
I have never before had such poor service.
The server, Tracee, was slow, surly, and extremely unhelpful. She waited for a half an hour after we placed out order to let us know the kitchen was out of the shrimp we had ordered. She did not bring us the drinks we ordered, and all this after a 30 minute wait at the bar until the hostess saw us and said Oh, you two are still here? A tables been ready...do you still want it? I forgot you were waiting.
The Steilacoom Pub and Deli down the road has a smaller (but still ample) selection of beers, but I would recommend it over Jakes any day!

Wow what an experience. Jake’s has been mentioned to me a few times. I had a good friend recommend this place and said please go check it out. So on a whim I packed the wife, kid and we headed to Steilacoom Washington. Upon finding the place which was not to bad the parking behind the bar is ample. It looks like a brand new building and the Bistro is upstairs. Brand new opened less than 6 months ago late 2007. As you walk in you see 42 glorious taps. Yes 42 taps and wow the selection was some of the best I have ever seen. From local stuff to hard to find out of the way foreign stuff. If you want light, dark, fruity hoppy or even sour they had it. The service was top notch. Wow the server sorry I did not catch her name she knew the product and wow she really helped with the kid and getting the food fast for the little monster. We had some awesome food great view the outside deck will be an awesome addition this is going to be a great stop for those coming down or up I-5. Stop see the view get some great beers and really good food. This was a truly awesome place to visit for the beer lover. Did I mention they also have a pretty well stocked bar. Scotch with over 10 different single malts.
