Small little upscale casual place in the main drag of the strip district. Menu is mostly a carribbean-latin american mix with some very interesting dishes. I had the conch fritters and fish tacos and both were amazing. Service was excellent. The beer list, like all big burrito restaurants, was very good and had 3-4 beers on draft I hadn’t had. They rotate drafts pretty regularly and reflect seasonal changes. Happy hour is half off most beers which is make some high gravity stuff very affordable (ex: boulder anniversary = $2.5). Food is a bit expensive but great atmosphere. Can sit outside in the summer.

This is the kind of restaurant you go to with your significant other for a special date... and somehow you are overjoyed to find they have a VERY solid draft list. Probably pushing one of the better lists in the city for draft. That said, while they had a number of vegetarian options I was completely underwhelmed by the food. Maybe I’m just not into "caribbean" enough but I wasn’t impressed by the pile of semi-bland $16 mush set before me. I’m guessing the meat entrees are much more exciting.

nice little place in the strip district with a solid and rotating selection, great food, and excellent service. great happy hour prices (half off drafts). the last time i was there, i had some kalamazoo stout and some green flash ipa, both on tap. i’d go there a lot more if it was closer to me.

7pm on a Wednesday evening. Easy parking. Smallish and cozy inside and pretty busy. Odd glass and ceramic pieced bar. Has tables on the sidewalk outside. A sense of Mexican, Caribbean, Jamaican and tropical all rolled into one little strip district corner. Lots of taps and good service. Younger 20 - 30 ish crowd. Typical well equipped hole in the wall. $5 for a good import or micro brew. Did not get food this time. Had a S/N pale ale on tap.

The beer list is pretty darn good for a Strip District pub, and the atmosphere is a nice place to relax and have a few pints. The real selling point is the menu. Kaya is part of Big Burrito’s group, including Mad Mex, Eleven, etc. Had a great dinner here for my birthday. Since I had had several beers over lunch earlier at Mad Mex, I had wine for dinner (decent selection of that, too). For absolute beer selection, you can find better in the Burgh, but if you want a nice meal to go with the beers, Kaya is a great place to hit before a game or a show. If you’re a local, you can sign up on their website to get a gift certificate each year for your birthday. This year it was $30 off any entree from 7 days before to 7 days after the birthday (and they’re strict about it). But, hey, free food!!

Best happy hour in the city. Very good selection of beers and spirits. Bartenders are typically very helpful. Can get pretty noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. One pain is that they really discourage you from sitting at tables unless you are eating, even during happy hour when most people are just there to have a few drinks. And there are few alternatives for standing or sitting.

Like this place a lot - great Happy Hour prices - half price draughts. Always a good place to find beers you don’t see so much in other micro-friendly bars. Food is really good and interesting, not your normal stuff. Service is excellent.

Located in ’The Strip’ near the river in Pittsburgh, which is a market area with lots of fresh food, ethnic restarants and artisans. Plenty of parking either on the street or in one of the pay lots at either end.

The interior has an interesting theme going. Lots of brick and yellow/orangue hues with an Aztec/Mayan theme with masks on the walls and tropical plants. The bar is along the right side with windows directly behind it to let in a good amount of light.

The beer selection here is decent, especially considering we were just there for lunch and not looking for beer. They have around 20 taps featuring selections from Stone (Arrogant Bastard), Southern Tier, Brooklyn, Heavyweight, Victory, GLBC etc. No macros to be seen. They also feature a good selection of bottles from all over. Regionals like Penn and Lancaster and other micros, and a lot of imports.

The service here was good on a weekend lunch hour. The server even made sure to tell me how to pour my bottle conditioned beer!

The food here here is pricey but good. Both the crab cake and jerked chicken sandwiches were excellent. Homemade sweet potato fries are interesting and good too.

Overall this restaurant probably has better beer selection than any of the bars in the Strip area, and is definitely worth a stop.
