stopped by on a very busy suday. only one girl working the whole place. she did an amazing job though. about 15 brews on tap, nothing that i was hoping for though. not what i was expecting and not a place im in a hurry to return to considering the travel. i really wanted to be blown away but at best my experience was average. 4 of the 5 brews i had were on form and served properly.

I visited Kuhnhenn on the date of their tenth anniversary. It was packed but we were still able to find an open table. Unfortunately the cookout food was gone by 4pm. They had many beers to choose from when I was there, however i hear that that is not usually the case. Sometimes my friends will go there and say that they don’t have any beers to go, and very very few on tap even. As they are a smaller brewery I will let this slide as they probably can’t accurately judge when they will be running out of things. The downside of this place has to be the cost. The beers are great, but the Raspberry Eisbock is $13 for a 6oz bottle. I would highly recommend the Solar Eclipse, it is a 19% stout, and a 12oz bottle will run you $7. I will be back for sure.

Of the 8-10 places we hit up on our Michigan brewery tour, this was undoubtedly one of the more disappointing. Perhaps it was because we went on a Friday night while it was crowded but it had a real busy bar feel. The selection was decent but the beer wasn’t as good as we were expecting. The Raspberry Eisbock was interesting, but definitely over-hyped. We had initially intended on spending the entire night there, but after a couple drinks we bounced and headed to Dragonmead -- which was amazing!

These guys make good beers, but the selection is inconsistent. They are often out of their signature tap Looney Kuhnie. Most of their beers are high ABV, so watch out for law enforcement. THey need some lower ABV, daily drinkers on the menu. That said, the double IPA is awesome. A couple of the barmaids seem rather disinterested, maybe even aloof, a couple are just great. Mary (?) is the tops.

Very good beers. Evelyn was a great bartender & extremely friendly. Decor needs some improvement. Nothing on the walls, way too bright. Really busy Friday here. Got a prime location at the bar. Food was simple. Got a cheese & sausage plate. Would be nice if they took the cheese, crackers & sausage out of the box or plastic wrap though. Everything was tasting & of high quality but the presentaion could use some more effort. Overall a must stop.

My brother, sis and law, and I went there last night and enjoyed both beer and a glass of wine. We werent there very long, but the staff seemed ready to serve and they had a nice selection of beer, wine and mead. Nice atmosphere, and also had homebewing supplies, winemaking supplies, cheesemaking supplies, as well as a nice calander of events. I cant wait to go back.

Owners and staff here are first class! Treated my colleague and I like royalty. I did mention that I found there place on rate beer and they were of course thrilled. House beers are exceptional and they offered us many tastings that were not on their menu. They truly know how to please a beer enthusiast!! Cheers to Kuhnhenn!

They have great beer, but a lot of drawbacks. The ambiance without entertainment leaves a lot to be desired. There are no TVs or music. If you go alone, it is very boring. The selection of tap beers could be better most times, since the 3 times I have gone, there were only about 6 beers available. Of course, if you go for the wine and mead also, there is plenty, but I don’t. With a group of friends, the quiet atmosphere would be nice. It would also be pretty good for business meetings. Overall, I will continue to go here, just not alone.

Nice small place, free popcorn, nice bartenders who love beer, full of patrons who love beer, wide selection of styles of beer, mead, and wine. I could drink there all day and never have the same thing. Most of all great beer.

Upon entering from the doors on Chicago Road you see the the old bar and the brewing tanks and apparatus to the left, tables and chairs surround the newly enlarged bar, they have moved the bar to the center of the room, they are still working on finishing the expanded room but I have been there and almost every seat was taken, they may need to expand again soon, I have received good sevice with my visits.
