| brentfeesh (51), Gadsden, Alabama | | September 17, 2007 Easy to get too, but the parking lot is too small. Looked like they had a nice selection of cheeses, sausages, and party favors but I didn’t pay close attention. I noticed a humidor but I did not look in it. Looked like plenty of wine (though I can’t vouch for the quality), and the beer selection was solid. I personally thought the prices on bourbon were great! I picked up two bottles for what I might have paid double for in Tennessee and would never have been able to find in Alabama. Eagle Rare and 4 Roses were recommended by their staff and they did not disappoint. | | illinismitty (200), Nashville, Tennessee | | April 10, 2007 [ Updated April 26, 2007 ] Mom and Pop warehouse and deli ambiance. Lots of domestics and regional beers, including Bells, Stone, Barrel House, Schlafly, Atwater, New Holland, BBC, Dogfish Head, etc. Belgian and European selection was a little disappointing. I was not sure if they broke sixers or not, but I was there to get Bells and Stone. Some seasonals seem to stick around longer than in most markets, so this is worth a stop. Upon checkout, I asked if I could get a box, and the cashier rudely pointed to the corner. So I had to drag all my beers over there and box them myself. I can see why the Knoxville crew comes here to stock up, since I live in TN. Good place to get the Bells lineup. Just don’t expect any service. | | jonwayne4883 (12), Grand Rapids, Michigan | | February 26, 2007 this place wasnt all expected. selection less than the other store, service was horrible. despite being told we could mix singles from six packs and cases, they didnt ring up at the register as singles and cashier gave us the impression we were a bother. | | Suttree (67), Knoxville, Tennessee | | February 25, 2007 [ Updated February 26, 2007 ] It’s all about selection here. The ambiance, if you can call it that, is like a warehouse. The service is fine if you approach someone, but don’t expect a lot of "may I help you" here. But what a huge selection of Amercian micros. One full aisle of that, then another of imports. The imports seemed a bit skimpier, and the Belgian selections was smaller than I expected, but I would certainly make the trip from Knoxville again. | | SpringsLicker (82), Tennessee | | January 4, 2007 Closest decent selection of beer to Knoxville TN. Not quite what you’ll find another hour north in Bellevue at Part Source, but a decent selection with competitive prices. Multiple displays of the saem beer amy make the selection appear larger than what it is, but this place is worth the two hour drive. | | tronraner (86), Maryville, Tennessee | | December 24, 2006 This is such an impressive chain. Like a department store for booze (and some gourmet foods) that doesn’t forget the beer. About two aisles of US stuff and an aisle of imports, with a separate area kept at cellar temperature. I can spend hours here trying to pick something out. | | decaturstevo (55), decatur, Tennessee | | December 19, 2006 Too many beers to list but a large selecitoin. Bell’s, Goose Island, Stone, and on and on. They will let you mix a six. The beer guy was there when we were and spent alot of time talking beer with us. The have food it is sort of like a grocery/deli, liquor/beer store. I really like it and hate that I’ve driven by it so many times without stopping. | | Cornfield (135), Oak Forest, Illinois | | October 2, 2006 [ Updated October 6, 2006 ] I like the looks of this place, poorly lit and filled with party favors and accessories, a small "deli" area, plenty of booze & wine, and lots of beer. Pretty much the same selection as a Liquor Barn that I stopped at in Louisville. Extensive, but most is obtainable closer to home. Still, I’m happy whenever I can find something to to try, so I left happy. I’d stop back if going through the area again. | Quietude (5), Lexington, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | July 7, 2006 If this Liquor Barn doesn’t have it, the others probably won’t, and sometimes you’ll find things here the others don’t have too. It’s very industrial-looking (tall shelves, dim lighting, concrete floor) but the selection is unparalleled.
Two aisles of beer, broken down by country of origin (and American micros are separate from macros) as well as a walk-in cooler with a wide variety of packages and kegs. American micro selection is good, including a wide variety of local brews. My first stop for anything other than a macro. | | harpus (40), birmingham, Alabama | | May 9, 2006 The store is huge. All the 6packs they allow to be broken into singles. They have a large selection of beers, many of which I have never heard of the Brewing Co. Most of the beers are micros from the US and some are imports. | View Page : 1 2
