Update 12/6/2009 - Logli has reduced their beer selection drastically. The store still has a decent selection for the area but they now provide about half of the space for the more unique brews previously found here. For the area, Logli’s offers a vast selection of beers for a moderately good price. Recently I had found a For Collins mixer pack that no one else had in their stores around me (including the big liquor store Binny’s at the time). Generally when I am in Rockford I enjoy a stop here to see what oddball brews their distributor is supplying to them. A slightly limited stock of 22 oz bottles or other single serving types but still a solid selection for the area. When the beer goes out of season and the store puts them on sale here, it REALLY goes on sale. Found six packs for Great Lakes Dort and Elliott Ness for $3 one time, so keep an eye out for them.

Stopped here b/c I was staying a night in Rockford. Its a large supermarket, not really worth visiting for food even. The beer selection is pretty decent, just nothing too interesting. There were lots of brands, Capital, Founders, and others. Some imports, nothing too large but decent. I just bout the American Bourbon Stout and the Pizza beer. Even if I am in Rockford again I could probably skip purchasing bottles.

One of he better places for selection in Rockford. Decent prices and if you can catch the beer guy there, he is fairly knowledgeable.

Even though they have a majority of mass produced beer, they do have a lot of beers that are not available in my area. I was happy to see Rochefort and Westmalle there. I will go back again in my quest to find new beers to try.

A very nice selection of imports and micros, I was impressed with the size of the beer cooler. I pulled six new ones out of Logli’s on a Saturday night after an Icehogs game.

Lots of BMC with some micro stuff here and there. Really there is nothing interesting that you will find here. If there is something that you are looking for that is pretty largely distributed this will be an okay place to go.

well well, somebody added Logli’s. This and Woodmans were my main sources of good beer in the city. I would usually go here for my SNCA fix during the winter. the staff is very friendly and somewhat knowledgible. Their little eatery has some good pizza and italian food for very cheap (definately worth the money). its good to see my old stomping grounds come up on the places (i never thought about adding them)

I added Logli’s supermarket to the Rockford places section because of its beer selection and proximity to Old Chicago and Cost Plus World Market. Logli’s is in the same strip mall you can park in one lot and visit all three. Beer / Liquor store is off the supermarket floor and features an adequate selection of micros, imports and macro beers. During my visit it had a well stocked selection of regional brews (Bell’s, Goose Island, Berghoff, Huber, Capitol) as well as imports and macro’s (three kinds of Hamm’s). Good prices, well stocked shelves and not all beer was refridgerated. If you are beer hunting in Rockford it’s easy to check out Logli’s, World Market and Old Chicago.
