Although it is kinda far from everywhere. I LOVE THIS STORE! Huge SqFt warehouse style. Beer is to the back. Lots of doors. Many many breweries to choose from. The best prices I’ve found so far! Lots of big beers. Lots of rarities from lots of breweries. Boulevard smokestack series, New Belgium Lips of Faith(s). For me, perfect for beer hunting. A good bit of beer from the NE and PNW that do not make it to Georgia. Southern Tier, Pyramid, New Belgium, Bells, Odell, Boulevard, Schlafly, much more. 6pk sampler selection was great. Easily 250 different singles. And good ones, mostly the small local guys, not a bunch of Macro BS. The staff were really cool. Invited me back to check out the beer tastings. A guess some distributors show up and sample pour the newest of their wares. Wine tasting classroom available too.

No need for a long review. This place is simply the BEST BEER STORE IN KC. They carry everything the distributor brings in. Huge selection of beers I’ve seen nowhere else, knowledgeable staff, good stock rotation and no one bugging you while you look. The one drawback is the distance from damn near everything. I live north of the river and it takes over 30 minutes to get there, all highway.

The largest selection of beer in Kansas City by far. Definitely supermarket-esque. Huuuge amount of wine and liquor too. They do a good job of getting new seasonals from whats available. The main beer guy is very friendly and knowledgable. Sure, they don’t get FFF, Oskar Blues, RR, Stone, DFH, or Alesmith...but thats not up to them. I’m sure if a distributor carried any of those, Lukas would jump all over the opportunity. Pretty big build your own six pack selection too. One of my go to places in KC for sure.

I make the weekly beer tastings every Saturday and appreciate the efforts and knowledge offered by Lukas, and Mark in particular. One big concern of mine is the inability of local wholesalers to draw in the really good IPA’s, such as Three Floyd’s from Indiana, Gordons and Dales from Oskar Blues in Lyons, CO, and California products such as Russian River’s Pliny, Stone and Alestream. Lukas does get several quality products such as Hop Rod Rye, Racer 5, O’Dells IPA, Southern Tier, Great Divide Hercules and on rare ocasion Bell’s Hop Slam. KC Boulevard has stepped forward with their Singlewide, too.

If you need a rare -- seriously rare -- beer in Kansas City, this is the best place I’ve found to hunt one down. The supermarket feel definitely won’t match the cozy atmosphere of some smaller stores, but few places in town match the quantity of Lukas. For Northlanders like myself, the drive is ridiculously long to Martin City, but hey, just stop in at Jack Stack while you’re in the neighborhood! Wide variety of super-rare 100s like Nogne 0, Mikkeler Brunch, etc. that you’re unlikely to find at the local Gomer’s. Friendly staff, but not a lot of interaction or pressure. I personally enjoy that, but you may have to flag down help if you can’t find what you’re hunting.

Me and my friends call this beer heaven. This is the best place to go in the Kansas City area. Its a bit of a drive if you are north at all but its absolutely worth the drive. Its not really in Kansas City but Martin City, I think. Its past Grandview and almost to Belton. Great mix-a-six selection and more imports than I’ve ever seen.

Great bottle shop with large selection of beers. I only wish I could have brought more boxes to ship back.

About the best selection on the KC, Mo side. Prices are good. Extensive mix a six. I would direct out of town people to this store above all others. My one problem with the place is it closes pretty early at night.

If you want a TRUE selection of beers, this is the place. They carry many craft beers of the region and some hard to find imports. (Side note: Their Wine and Liquor selection is extensive too.)

If you were to make one stop in Kansas City to buy beer, this would be it. Lots of space devoted to craft beer. Wide selection of American micros, Belgians, and other European beers as well as cider. Lots of cooler space for good beer. Good selection for build you own six pack, both warm and cold. You should be able to find someone there who can answer beer questions. They hold weekly tastings as well as some other special events. If you are into wine, they have a fantastic selection as well as a wine bar next door.
