20 reviews for Mahr’s Bräu
| oh6gdx (93), Vasa, Finland | | October 19, 2009 Nice beer garden, with quick service and quite an amount of the Mahrs beers available. Food was ok, one of the places where the portions are quite big. The staff even recommended different beers with different foods. | zonmei (3), Bamberg, Germany does not count - explanation | | September 30, 2009 Great place to hang out. I’ve been here with family and just friends and both have been great. Inside is dark wood and has a home feel. Outside under tree or umbrella is good year round in any weather. The service is prompt and food is great. My kids love the turkey and pommes and I love everything. We had a local couple buy us a keg on our last visit! Great times. | | Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | June 22, 2009 Unfortunately the cask looks just like wood but is really only plastic. Still, the "U" beer (the nickname for the ungespundetes) is fabulous. If there were no other reason to come to this place that would be good enough for me. However, I really liked this stube. Lots of dark wood, super cozy, and traditional yet not at all dowdy. Besides Schlenkerla. probably the best indoor place to spend a few hours eating and drinking. The food was well above-average, and so was the service. | | jfb (18), Weihenstephan, Germany | | March 27, 2009 The best feature about this place is the atmosphere. The low ceiling, the green-tiled furnace, the wooden interior, the gravity-fed casks, the typically blunt Franconian waitresses, just all-round fantastic! They usually have the Pils and the Helles on tap, the rest of the standard-beers are bottled and there’s always some bottled seasonal beer. I haven’t missed this place on a visit to Bamberg once. | | LaMichael (599), Colorado | | June 4, 2008 Down the street from Keesmann’s, be sure to hit both at once. Tables and barrels out front for sitting and drinking, prices for beer and food listed on large signs hanging from the beerhouse, attentive waitresses, easy going atmosphere, no surprises. The kellerbier is especially good fresh vom fass. | | skortila (65), Bunnik, Netherlands | | September 12, 2007 We just got here to load some crates in the car. Ambience in the biergarten was not that great compared to others in the city. Okay, okay, it was 10:00 in the mourning when we arrived. :-) Their beers are okay. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | July 22, 2007 A very cozy bierstube, with a beutiful green tile-covered stove. Seems like a very local place, and the employees wears very beutiful clothes. 3 beers on draft and 5 beers in bottles, though only 2 I hadn’t had. But still a nice place just to hang out and wait until Papsø gets thru all the beers he needs to sample. | | caesar (119), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands | | July 20, 2007 Big beergarden located in front of the brewery, where you can smell all the grain and hop. There should be food available, but when we arrived only some boring pretzels were there. Also staff was less friendly compared to other bars. | | voota (92), Melbourne, Australia | | July 3, 2007 First pub I visited in Franconia, the beers are all good, nice open beer garden... the kitchen was closed but they gave us some nice big cheese and meat platters. Its all pretty cheap too. For some reason there were heaps of tourists here, making it the only beer place (other than Schlenkerla) in Bamberg I felt to be a bit touristy. | | Emil (52), Copenhagen, Denmark | | March 27, 2007 A cosy plase with 4 different beers, one from a wooden cask. Good beer. |
