4 reviews for Marikka’s Restaurant und Bier Stube
| Ryan82SM (28), Louisville, Kentucky | | October 17, 2009 Very different from what I expected. Mostly a college crowd sucking down Bud Light when there are actual good beers sitting in the fridge and on tap. Billiards, darts, foosball and air hockey were available. If you call yourself a "Bier Stube," perhaps you shouldn’t look and feel like a college bar. Anyway... Service was fine, even though I had the beg the girl even to get a tumbler glass. Selection is pretty good, a nice variety of beers, a few more rare bottles. I was highly disappointed that the restaurant part of the building was closed when I arrived, so I didn’t get a chance at any food (though pizza was available, whoopdie doo). Beers were fairly priced for the quality. This score may go up upon a future visit where I can eat and get a good representation of what this place has to offer in the daytime. | pmglasser (6), , Kentucky does not count - explanation | | June 5, 2008 Quick service, pool tables, darts and a patio with volleyball pits in the back. Great selection of bottled beer. I haven’t eaten here. Make sure you don’t drive right by it, but it’s a non-descript store front in a strip mall. | jgleeson (3), Lexington, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | November 2, 2007 If you want to try bottled beers from around the world, this is your place! Plenty of pool tables, dart boards-even foosball- make Marrikka’s a worthy destination. | kmpitz2 (5), Tennessee does not count - explanation | | April 4, 2006 I like Marikka’s when I want to go to a bar and not a restaurant. They do have a restaurant, but the bar itself is separate from that seating. I enjoy tossing some darts and drinking a nice beer. The majority of the selection here is imports, with a limited American micro menu, but I’ve never had trouble finidng a beer to drink. Even though I’m not there very often, the staff recognizes me and says hi when I walk in, and they always work fast and stop chatting to serve people if there is a line at the bar. This one would not be very convenient for people traveling through town, but if you are staying the night in Lexington, its worth a look after dinner and a beer at Pazzo’s. |
