4 reviews for McGillin’s Olde Ale House
| MaltDawg (11), Richmond, Virginia | | September 16, 2009 Tuesday night visit and the place was rocking. Rowdy 20-30 yr old crowd with a sports bar/pub atmosphere. Good selection of local and imports on tap. Bar keep was friendly and very attentive...no waiting for a beer here! | | obxdude10 (82), Pottstown, Pennsylvania | | March 23, 2009 I haven’t been to McGillin’s in a very long time. It’s been so long that I didn’t even submit a rating for it! But here goes from what I remember. I was there on a weekend night, so the place was pretty crowded. They have a pretty nice selection of beers on draft, from local micros to a few good imports. They even have a couple house beers, brewed by a semii-local brewery. I didn’t try any food here, so I’m sure that’ll bring the score down. I was really only there to have some drinks and move on to another bar. The value score took a little hit, with some of the prices being a little higher. But that’s because you’re in Center City. Things are certainly going to cost a little more. I’d love to get back to this bar again sometime soon. | | Firemoose15 (15), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania | | August 10, 2008 Wandered down the street from our stay at the Marriott. This is my type of place, nice atmosphere. Enough beers on draft to get just about anyone by and the staff seemed quite friendly. The house beers were good and some other nice selections. I’d call this the type of place everyone would like in their neighborhood. | | biggcb (27), Harleysville, Pennsylvania | | June 25, 2008 Right near City Hall and the Downtown Marriott. Very quaint Irish pub. Pretty nice tap list, with several locals featured - Yards, Sly Fox, Victory and their 2 ’house’ beers brewed by Stoudt’s. Service was pretty good. Food was quite tasty. I had the Shepherd’s Pie - recommended. |
