6 reviews for Mellow Mushroom (Murfreesboro)
| Acknud (16), Morganfield, Kentucky | | June 6, 2009 Good food, decent beer selection but no real new finds. Food was good though. Worth going back to. | belgianale (2), does not count - explanation | | May 15, 2008 I’ve been a fan of Mellow Mushroom since first having their pizza way back in the 70’s near the Ga Tech campus.
Their restaurants have steadily gone upscale in design (nouveau hippie?), but the food remains tasty and healthful.
The greek salad is always a favorite of mine, and the mega veggie pizza is also very good. Great sandwiches.
Nothing goes better with pizza than a good beer from the tap, and they have a nice selection. | | NachlamSie (213), Tennessee | | March 24, 2008 This is basically like all the others in the chain. They have a hippie bus parked in the middle of the restaurant. I would love to get tanked and pretend to drive it. Beer selection is quite serviceable. Taps from BBC (including the Jefferson reserve), Boulder, Blackstone, Yazoo. . .decent stop. I didn’t eat at this location. | andyhite (3), Murfreesboro, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | July 20, 2007 the selection is extensive for a restaurant which prides itself on non-traditional pizza. bottles include a few HG’s, and it’s a good mix. you don’t walk in there and look for the closest representation of a craft brew, you actually have to decide how ya feel. i even find myself having to choose a style and then have to narrow it down. the food’s great. i usually chill out on the patio, but only b/c i’m not just there for the beer and good live music. the only drawback is the service. it’s a great place aside from the idea that if you go there, don’t plan on being in and out in less than an hour or 2. i’ve been there many times, and had many different servers (both inside and the patio), but i always spend more time there than i wish to. still, the beer is always great. | rsteagall (9), does not count - explanation | | July 16, 2007 By far this is the best on tap selection in Murfreesboro. Service at the bar is good. Food is not too bad. Ambiance might be a little too much like a pizza place instead of brew pub. I’m sure this is by design though... stick to the bar area and you’ll be fine though. :) | | BeerHawk (39), Huntsville, Alabama | | March 5, 2007 Was here on a Sunday night and damn...a live band on a Sunday night in the Boro! Food is the usual MM menu which is pretty decent. They had 40ish beers listed on tap and 32 listed available in bottles on the menu. Decent selection of Yazoo, plus some Blackstone, Highland, Sweetwater, and Sam Smiths to list a few of the highlights. Our waitress jacked up our food order but was very friendly, knew the seasonal offerings, and got the beer orders right. |
