BQRC23 (2), Ohio does not count - explanation | | October 25, 2009 This is not a place you go for ambiance, this is a place you go for some great comfort food and great beer selections. | | ZiggyDaMoe (12), , Ohio | | July 8, 2009 Great place but hard to find parking, and they tend to get a little busy at times. | livelaughlovep (5), Lakewood, Ohio does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2009 The wait is always bad. Lets face it. If you walk in with 3 people, its going to be at least an hour. Is it worth it? YES.
The service is good, sometimes a little slow if the place is packed (When isn’t it?) but they are attentive. Food is great, grilled cheeses the size of your head and some wonderful burgers that almost give the Beer Engine a run for its money. Tap list is cheaper than the Engine, too, but doesn’t change over as fast as the Engines’. Bottle selection is reasonable, as were the prices.
I was pleasantly surprised that upon ordering a pint of Bell’s Oberon that the price came to 2.50 instead of 3 due to it being the "beer special"! You cannot beat cheap craft beer.
So if you are in the area, have some time to waste, and want amazing food and a damn fine beer selection - head on over! | | HoppityHop (49), New Jersey | | April 15, 2009 RAISE THE ROOF! If you’re willing to wait an hour or three for a table, this might just be the best place in Clevo, or should I say Clevo-area? Food is amazing, beer follows closely, and the service is always top notch. Prices are very reasonable, and you’ll always find something on tap, that you’ve either never tried, or want to try again (and again and again). You can’t go wrong at Melt, even for breakfast! | breathinghope (1), Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 18, 2009 Both of my visits to Melt so far have been followed by "I can’t wait to come back here again."
Pleasant service during both of my visits, with our waitresses being attentive and willing to suggest both beverages and meal items at need. Admittedly a small place, so it’s wise to get here early (and not try to come out if you’re looking for a quiet, spacious meal/drink experience).
Absolutely fantastic array of specialty grilled cheese sandwiches that are roughly proportionate in size to the skull of a Kodiak bear. A great array of beers and ciders on tap - a nice find: Strongbow cider is almost always available this way - and a wide variety of bottled beers, as well. I love the fact that they consistently stock Rochefort 8 and 10’s, with it being among my favorite Belgian Trappiste brews. In general, a sandwich from here coupled with a Rochefort renders me near comatose with gastronintestinal delight. I’m coming back, again and again and again. | | miketd (36), Cleveland, Ohio | | July 26, 2008 [ Updated April 16, 2009 ] Let me be clear from the start...I’m not a fan of this place. Service sucks and wait staff is indifferent on their best day. Place is small and cramped. One redeming factor is the food. Good stuff, but it wont get me to come back very often. | | TomDecapolis (69), Skippack, Pennsylvania | | July 22, 2008 Went here for lunch while in Lakewood visiting some friends. Hands down an amazing feel/decor to this place. Tons of craft beer stuff all over the place, their logo had that rock n roll/tattoo design going on. Menu was printed on the back of old record albums and their focus in terms of food...grilled cheese. Specialty grilled cheese that is. I got this Firecracker Grilled Cheese that came with this nice spicy chicken, peperjack cheese, pineapple and avocado. It was hands down the best and most unique grilled cheese I even had. Did I mention it was served on huge thick slices of great bread! They had a big craft beer draft selection as well as a big bottle list. Focusing on some Ohio brews along with beers from Bear Republic, Weyerbacher, Victory, Bells among others. Loved this place! | | fiver29 (15), Cleveland, Ohio | | March 20, 2008 I had lunch at Melt today. I stopped around 1:00 PM and there were no seats available at any table or at the bar. No one seemed to be assisting anyone with seating arrangements. Was a very small place and I was standing over a table eating because there was no wait area. That said, this place rocked! It has a very cool vibe and the atmosphere was made up of mainly 30-something professionals with a mix of everyone else in between. Once waited on the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. 11/12 drafts are craft beers which is great. The Miller Lite must be for the ladies looking for a glass of water. Combo of 12 oz and 22 oz bottles behind the bar was impressive. The sandwich was huge on Texas style toast and was very tasty. Good food and good beer make for a great combo anytime. Great little place if you don’t mind waiting. | | BeerVirgin72 (76), Pataskala, Ohio | | January 20, 2008 Stopped in here on a Saturday night. They were packed of course. The servers were very friendly and tried to get us seated, but it was just too crowed. Very neat atmosphere inside. The beer selection was more then adequate for me. I didnt get to try the food, but I will be back. It looked awesome!! | | MikeF (95), Cleveland, Ohio | | November 4, 2007 [ Updated October 16, 2009 ] A great addition to the beer scene in Cleveland. Conveniently located near Rozi’s and Buckeye, Melt adds some unique food and great beer to the mix. The sandwiches are great and very large. High quality ingredients all around. Small, but cozy. Crowded, but we only waited about 10mins for a seat. Service is just ok. I think that they are overwhelmed by the crowds arriving at melt. You would think they would love the increased business, but numerous staff seemed stressed and downright annoyed being so busy. Nevertheless, they got the job done. They will need to sort something out (more staff, rearrange tables who knows) to keep up with the increased business. Certainly worth the stop - great food!.
Updated beer opinion: over the last couple of years, they have continued to have a great rotating line-up of high quality brews for, generally, very good prices.
service has improved, but long waits are common. |
