October 8, 2009 Restaurant and bar in a hotel and spa complex between the city center and the railway center. It doesn’t get that homely feeling of a traditional pub. But still, 16 hand pumps with beers mainly from Bristh micros is impressive enough. On my visit in July 2009 I tried a couple of beers from Salopian and Bowland. Well kept beers. Service was friendly and efficient. Clientele mainly consisted of hotel and spa residents and the odd beer geek. Food was good and price worthy. Cozy is not the word, but well worth a visit for the beers. |

March 25, 2009 Well, it´s a hotel not a pub. But you don´t mind that when you see 16 real ale taps. All the ales are from microbreweries. While you are drinking you can watch live sports from three large tv screens (26.2.09). |

December 30, 2006 This place was a nice suprise to find. Family stayed here so popped them a visit and found a good selection of ales on offer. The beer was very good. impressed with the service and a good place to have a beer. Good hotel also if your staying in Chester. |

October 16, 2006 The first time I visited the Mill I was pleasantly surprised to find 16 or so handpumps some of which were serving quite interesting guest beers. Nicely located on the canalside. Large TV screen for the live sports and live music some nights of the week, last time I went it was traditional jazz night. |

September 6, 2006 A very unusual venue for a scooping venue; a bar in a canalside hotel in a popular tourist city! The beer range has always been good for donkey’s years, but after a refurbishment in the mid 90s where the number of handpumps grew exponentially it became a must-visit if in the area. The beer range may not be as good as in those heady days, but it’s still a cracking pub with every chance of a tick and some top beer if not - was a regular outlet for local Weetwood beers. It’s not far from Chester station so makes a convenient stopover on the way to somewhere with more winners and I’ve even heard the accommodation is quite good! |
