This is the quintessential Minneapolis stop. If you’re stuck without a car, it’d be about a 10 block hike from the lightrail’s Downtown East/Metrodome station. With a car, you can park in the Holiday Inn next door. The atmosphere is great. There’s a quieter dining room on one side, bar on the other with a large patio in the summertime. They have one pool table and a small couch/fireplace/TV area by the dining room. The staple beers are a mix (two okay, three pretty good), but the seasonals are where they shine. Baring the occasional miss, they churn out wonders like Czar Jack, Heather, Wee Heavy, wine infused stouts, and more. There are two cask selections which are usually two of the current seasonals (nice to try it side by side with the ‘pushed’ sibling) or a staple on cask. The Masala Mama on cask (shown as Cask IPA) is awesome.

pepsican | I visited here on a saturday afternoon. I was able to park right across the street, but I bet that was just luck. We sat outside so I didn’t see how it looked inside of the place. The outside was nice and well kept. The beers were pretty darn good, and the wait staff knew a fair amount about the beers on tap. My food was decent at best, but my girlfriend really liked hers. I’d definitely come back to this place.

Old_Mr_Crow | If I were going to design my own brewpub, it would have among other things all of the following features:
+ Broad lineup of interesting, creative beers.
+ At least one outstanding IPA
+ Multiple beers on cask, preferably including the aforementioned IPA
+ An outdoor beer garden for long summer nights
+ A pool table
+ A well-crafted, expansive hardwood bar with plenty of space and a comfortable feel. +Friendly, helpful staff.
There might be other things as well, but off the top of my head those are some of the big ones - and Town Hall nails them all. I spent three straight nights in here at a conference this past summer, The cask IPA was superb, so damn good that it kept me from sampling anything like the full lineup because all I could do was order another pint and another pint of that beauty. Great place, great beer. I’m a big fan.

TomDecapolis | Stopped in while on business in MN. English pub type feel with a nice outdoor seating area. Beers were top notch and they also feature a few guest taps and bottles. I got the cheeseburger sliders and they were great.

Tweety | Good atmosphere, good food, and better beer. They make some amazing brews, and they’re reasonably well-priced too. My favorite digs in this city.

theisti | Visited on Saturday evening 3/15/08. This was a cool bar / brewpub - very laid back with a great variety of folks coming and going. The beer was good as was the service. Unfortunately there was not anything too interesting on when I was there, but the Masala Mama was more than enough to keep me happy all night. They had a nice list of Belgian guest beers, which was nice to see. I did not eat, but the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great.

keoki182 | Really cozy brewpub on the corner of an exciting section of town. The waitstaff was really helpful (suggested a pitcher instead of 3 pints, saving us $5 and giving us another pint in the process). Their selection was in line with other brewpubs I’ve been to...quality over quantity. Very good beer (Black Snow Coffee Porter is fantastic!).

| lisalucy | I am a big fan of town hall brewery. Although the beers they brew can be hit or miss (I’ve had many that are great and many that are mediocre), they always have a couple fabulous guest beers on tap that are a sure thing. I’ve only had appetizers to eat there, but they were very good. The place always seems to be decently busy, yet the environment is laid back and enjoyable.

Syd | I’ve been here many times. From the times I’ve wondered if Masala Mama was actually green (its not, it was the fresh hops talking), to the times I’ve toasted Festivus with other beer geeks - it has always been great. I’ve had great service, great food, and very good beer.

LawStudent09 | The atmosphere here is very laid back and casual. The service can be hit and miss and depends on what time you go. There beer is great and they always have some special import on tap as well as three seasonals that rotate frequently. Very nice and relaxing place.

tytoanderso | I’m there pretty much ever Friday night. Service is really hit or miss. Bartenders know what they’re talkin about, but the waiters and waitresses are all over the map. The beer is awesome. Constantly rotating selection of their beer and a few guest beers. The food is way better than average bar food. Nice patio in the summer. Decent single malt selection as well.
