3 reviews for Northgate Liquors
bluemooner (8), Blaine, Minnesota does not count - explanation | | June 8, 2009 Was not expecting much when I first visited but was pleasantly surprised. People are friendly and helpful and prices are pretty average overall. What I first noticed was how spacious the layout of this store is compared to other liquor stores. Pretty good selection of seasonals and local beers. Many more expensive brews located in one whole side of an aisle. Also many coolers full of beer. Also features a create-your-own-six-pack for around $9.50 which is very good for beginners. Cigars available though selection is very limited. A pleasant surprise overall. | kayaksbeer (2), , Minnesota does not count - explanation | | March 25, 2009 Stopped in this store on my way up to the cabin after being told about their selection. By far the best and largest selection of craft beers and wine in the northern suburbs. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the store. I didn’t look around long before someone asked if I needed help. Ended up buying much more than I needed due to such a great selection. Definately worth the stop. | | JK (118), Richfield, Minnesota | | February 1, 2009 [ Updated May 13, 2009 ] This was a good store for the location. Lots of good, if not rare beer. Some very good Belgian ales, nothing sour. Solid domestic selection. Prices are high on everything, beer and everything else. Laphroaig 10 was $10 more than I would pay at Cellars. Unibroue beers were $7.99. Most of the service was friendly, some, not so much and seemed bothered that I was there. Very good beer tasting on Superbowl Weekend. Good selection, especially on wine. Lots of less common Bloody Mary mixes. Make your own six pack section with nothing interesting, and it doesn’t appear they sell individual bottles. One of the larger liquor stores in the Twin Cities, but not really a destination for beer yet. |
