isasbread (1), , does not count - explanation | | October 28, 2009 Excelente cerveza, la mejor de toda la isla, buen ambiente, buena comida.
Lo recomiendo. | AGAquino (5), San Juan, Puerto Rico does not count - explanation | | October 19, 2009 Beerwise, the only issue I can think of is that they could have more beer styles than they do now. The ones they have are excelent, a German Helles, a Pilsner, an American Pale Ale and a stout; and a seasonal that changes about monthly. The double bock they did as a seasonal several months ago is still talked about.
Ambiance wise, they are top notch. Elegant bar and dining areas, visible kitchen areas and friendly wait staff.
Food wise, the prices are a bit pricey, but the quality is excelent. Definetly worth the visit.
On a recent visit, Head Brewer, Wolfgang Lindell, was at the bar and is very approachable for questions and comments.
| mromeu (1), , does not count - explanation | | July 2, 2009 I was pleased with finding a brew pub in the island. They definetely offer a better variety of beer than the usual coors light, bud, medalla and heineken that you can find all over the plac. The beers were decent but not distinctive. Their seasonal was the better of all. The manager was gracious enough to give me a tour of their operation where I got to see their open fermentation tanks. Their waiters knew their beers selection but not much about them. I did not sample the food but what I saw looked very pricey and well presented. This is a definitely stop for me on my trips to Puerto Rico. However, it is usually a stop on my way to Carli Cafe. | | Grovlam (46), Copenhagen, Denmark | | January 7, 2009 when you find yourself on the island, this is the place to go. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and ok beer. Didn’t try the food, but it looked fabulous. | | drpimento (55), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | October 24, 2008 Friendly and accomdating. We were shown a spot at the bar by smiling hostess and bartender. Good beers and an electical connection for my laptop. Food prices do seem a little steep and this is confirmed by my Puerto Rican amiga Yoly. Very clean. Good location. | | pumpmaster (22), Pembroke Pines, Florida | | June 14, 2008 Your best choice (only choice) in Puerto Rico. Try the 5-beer sample or go directly for the Kofresi. Did not have any food. | | cheapdark (65), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania | | April 24, 2008 [ Updated July 22, 2008 ] Waitress waiting outside on this hot day to greet you. Very nice inside and the food is pretty expensive. Nice polished brewtanks immediately fill your eyes. The tanks are shiny copper and they are highlighted with stage lighting. 5 Old Brew beers on tap. Nice oasis in Old San Juan. Cool looking chandeliers. Floor is large black and white checkerboard. You can see giant cruise ships coming and going in the bay while sitting at the bar, quite a sight. 5 beer sampler for $9. Food was not quite as good as the price should indicate. Either way, this is the only brewpub in Puerto Rico and if you are on the island and a ratebeerian, you must stop in and check out the brews. | | unclemattie (104), Georgia | | October 31, 2007 27 oct 07. Right on a corner, surrounded by blue, brick, cobblestone streets. Quiet, intimate, and cozy. Copper brew kettles right in the middle of the place. (Natives told me it was an old Federal Reserve Bank Location.) Bar is to the side. Food is very Pricey!!! $$$$$. Steak, lobster. I ordered the PR Sampler... Awesome! The rest of the food was, just OK. 5 beers on tap at all times, one being a rotation seasonal. Service was not very knowledgeable of the beers offered. All were very good, especially for being the only brewpub on the island. And definitly ... THE ONLY PLACE ON THE ISLAND. | | Derek881 (25), Frederick, Maryland | | September 6, 2007 Happened into this corner brewery while exploring Old San Juan. A very nice, upscale environment, with a nice decor. They had a live band playing music while we were there. The service was not the greatest, which is on par with what we experienced throughout San Juan. There were only 5 house beers (I only managed to have 2), so the selection was not the greatest. I cannot rate the food since I did not try any, but from what I could see it looked good. Overall, it’s a good microbrewery, with a pleasant environment, and most importantly, the beer was very good. | | pantani (65), Salinas, California | | October 3, 2006 It’s very ritzy. I mean It’s looks like they spent a ton of money to build this place. Beers aren’t great, but good for the area. |
