| kiefdog (101), Tampa, Florida | | November 2, 2009 Visited during GABF 2009. We really liked this brewpub as it had indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoor seating was on the second floor of the building offering views of the surrounding landscape. Outdoor seating on the south side of the building was in the sun, but on this September day was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the honey bees kept swarming around us, but other than that a really nice feel to this place. Lunch was good and reasonably priced and beer selection was strong as well. We had hoped to grab a few t-shirts, but the selection was a little sparse. Didnt have a beer in the downstairs area, but it looked cool. Definitely worth the trip when in the local area. | | notalush (158), Denver, Colorado | | September 12, 2009 Went here for lunch on a Saturday - Lyons has a population of about 1000, and I would say about half of them were in here for lunch (great local reputation) - the clientele didn’t seem to know a whole hell of a lot about beer, but I digress - standard bar and grill atmosphere, but the arcade downstairs is a very nice touch (I didn’t get to play) - the menu made the food sound good, but it is not - the service was good - smiling - prompt - friendly - honestly, I found the beer selection unimpressive (standard stuff you can find in stores, plus another pale and a nut brown) - is the beer good? - sure it is, but the selection and level of creativity with the pub only brews seems lacking - there is not much that sets this place apart from other good brewpubs that aren’t in tiny, out of the way mountain towns - if this brewer were not at the forefront of the "canned craft beer revolution," I doubt that many people that didn’t live close by would be visiting it. | | TearsforBeers (11), Ohio | | August 9, 2009 This place is great. Interior decoration is fun, cd labels act as wall paper, and there are odd portraits all around from a local artist. The food was pretty good, our waitress was snarky but fun, and of course, the beer is excellent. My rating would be even higher if they had any guest taps. | | Gregis (23), Shawnee, Kansas | | June 27, 2009 [ Updated June 28, 2009 ] I really liked this place. I visited on a Saturday afternoon with a couple buddies and thought it was odd how empty the dining room was given that there was a festival and kayaking competition going on in the park right across the street. We later discovered that everyone was sitting outside on the deck & patio that we’d failed to notice when we entered. 9 beers on tap. All solid, but ironically, the best were their "regulars" versus the seasonals (a departure from many places). The Silo Burger (1/2 lb of beef topped with pulled pork and hot sauce), which we all ordered, was a hit but the artichoke nachos weren’t anything special. 80’s pop/rock hits (Yaz, Corey Hart, Eurythmics, etc) ran the entire time we were there, and like others have mentioned, they have vintage video games I hadn’t seen for nearly 20 years. Overall, a cool place to hang out, grab a bite & enjoy some solid craft beer. I’ll definitely be back. | WinoInTraining (3), Longmont, Colorado does not count - explanation | | May 16, 2009 My favorite local hang. Great food. Always good music, and it is truly a part of the community in Lyons. Dale is a cool fucking dude. Humble, good dad, pretty good at Ultimate. You’d never guess they were on their way to becoming a regional brewery. Only thing you really want to drink is their stuff, always something new on tap. Not that they have ant selection of anything else. | | NachlamSie (209), Tennessee | | February 27, 2009 Hah. What a weird town to be home to the World’s Mecca of canned beers. There is not very much as far as civilization in Lyons. It was an hour or less drive from Denver and well worth it. We made two trips up here. The place has a lively atmosphere. About 8 or 10 beers were on upstairs in the main dining area. We ate some pretty delicious etouffe and pot roast. I couldn’t get over the people drinking Budweiser from the bottle at the table next to me. Ten Fidy on tap, Gordon on tap, and they drink Bud. Anyway, the downstairs has an awesome vintage arcade with Super Mario Bros. among over 20 other games. Super Mario Bros. really pisses me off, btw. The downstairs bar had all the beers on tap except for two, so it was a good place to post up after our meal and on our next visit. Oskar Blues has such unique personality and very imperssive beer. I strongly recommend visiting. | | rmags11 (10), Colorado | | February 24, 2009 Great beer, good food. | | Lumpy (50), Carrollton, Texas | | February 3, 2009 Good locations, excellent selection of OB beers. The food was awesome-try the Silo Burger. It may be my new favorite hamburger in the whole world. Service was prompt. All in all a damn enjoyable visit. | | Theis (80), , Denmark | | December 15, 2008 We had a tour at the brewery - thanks guys - and some food and a beer at the Grill and Brew. Nice place. Bar with live music at night in the basement and Grill at 1st floor. Plain american food... greasy. Good beers. | | caesar (119), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands | | October 9, 2008 Nice grill and brew, located in a nice little mountain village. Beers are pretty good. Service was ok. I had a gyros salad for food, also decent. Everything was pretty ok, but not exceptionalI would say. |
